I do recall them saying the Limited Edition of MoH was necessary for the BF3 beta, however it seems they recently changed it to all versions of MoH.

Ya well I bought MOH at full price because I was one of the few people ( on the planet I guess) who enjoyed the MP beta last summer and so I bought it the week it came out and I still didn't get any alpha or a beta invite yet for BF3. Sucks for me I guess right? Yes It's registered with EA.

Well, there is no invite for it yet, just an email saying there will be one for early entry to the beta.

Are you really upset for not getting into something that hasn't happened yet?

No I'm kinda of bothered I didn't get an alpha invite though. Even though I wasn't promised one as a result of buying MOH it sure would have been a nice suprise.

Its a site for invitees, the relevant email invite directs participants to that site, and upon logging in generates a serial that is redeemed in Origin. Presumably the criteria is that your EA account has been flagged as being invited to the alpha.

No not really.. This is just Alpha testing..

At least it sounds like they're doing the beta testing before launching the product this time, unlike BC2

If they don't reach the numbers they want they will probably just add more, not that difficult.

If beta is anything like BC2, every single person in the world and more is going to get a key with relative ease.

I still haven't even received the email confirming the early entry for beta either. The invites haven't even been sent out yet, but the confirmation email has been sent as was pointed out several posts ago. Anyone who purchased MOH should have atleast gotten that one...but alas, that isn't the case. Now many of us are concerned that they won't come through on their promise and invite us.
 
By looking at those videos, it seems that lighting is way off, outdoors at least. Contrast is lot higher than what i'm used to. Even though i think it's an "art direction" they were going for, to make it movie like, i hope they are going to tweak it a bit, i would hate to play Atacama Desert - style maps where you eyes will bleed just by looking at the screen.
I don't know if alpha is running hardcore mode or not, but people are dropping dead a lot quicker than in older BF games. Either they upped the damage a little, or because of no recoil, or they finally got the hit detection right (which would be shocking, but in a good way) :p. Can't wait to try it out myself.

I've read the hit detection is very good now, and you do die faster so maybe its a combination of hit detection, and more powerful weapons. I really like it like that, as that was one of my huge gripes with older BF titles. Now only if they would kill the 3d spotting.

BC2 has the same problem. Its mostly bloom, which I disabled and then turned the brightness down a little as well.

From the what I've seen in the videos vehicles are looking better. I hate trying to go up even a small slope in a tank in BC2 because the tanks fucking crawl up them.

EA rep: It depends on multiple factors, including newsletter signup, Veteran Status on Bad Company 2, your level in Bad Company 2.

How do i link my BC2 account to my ea account I have had since 2006? I don't get how their online account stuff works.:confused:
 
reseting my BC2 account just created a new EA account for me?

When i add my name to the BC2 page my stats do not show up? how do i get veteran status?

This is what I did and worked for me and many others. I went from level 0 to 7 :D

However I'm still waiting for the Alpha :D

To update your veteran Status:

#1 Click here - Support Home Page
#2 Go to My Stuff > login
#3 Click here - http://support.ea.com/app/chat/livechat_landing
#4 Ask for BFBC2 M1 Garand.
#5 The hotliner will add Battlefield games, even if you don't own them.
#6 Check your Veteran status

Estimated time : 2 minutes.

I lost my BF2 game, or gave it away a long time ago for some reason. Last year I tried to register my 1942 key and it said it was already used (WTF) I think I threw it out because I tried looking for it recently and I couldn't find it. Although I am Veteran level 3 and have the garand, f2000, etc, would they upgrade me higher? I feel kinda odd asking for this though lol.

Forget the alpha selection. I want to know more about 2143. The beta for bf3 will be out in a month or two... so I can wait till then, but 2142 is my all time favorite and I can not wait to run titan and some walkers.

Actually the process was painless. Believe it or not they have a great support system/staff.

They already know what you are looking for. :D You can also tell them about the games you lost as long as you give them your E-mail they will locate you and add the game.

I was expecting the pony ride MS support will give you but to my pleasant surprise their support was top notch.
