It would be awesome if this game was controller only for PC. Controllers are just so much more comfortable to use. Analog sticks do kind of suck at times but controllers like the Wiimote, and the PS Move seem ideal for FPS games.

Let's hope this never actually happens

Its because modern video gamers are nothing more than dimwit thumbmonkeys. Why think when you can just move two thumbs and stare mindlessly into your TV not realizing you've payed $60 again for the same Fucking piece of shit?

Ahhhh? HAHAHAHA :D The dumb masses AHHAHAHAHAHA

I hope BF3 replaces TF2 for my primary online game cuz that game is getting on my nerves and Valve blows. With most servers adding bots to play with lol cuz no one joins dead servers? haha and they need a program that runs in TF2 that runs player stats and puts people on more evenly balanced teams etc. Thats why I think TF2 has a tendency to blow, you get one good game or two then look for another server and find all shitty ones.. Valve blows because they make all their money on steam now days instead of staying fresh.

This HAS to be trolling....otherwise...no...just no....no

Hrmm i enjoy KB/Mouse> Any controller's! Just cause i am a BIG PC gamer! & I bet there is a possibility someone is going to find a way to use a controller for those games.. So imo google it when tha game come's out! But limiting only just a controller is troll!

September. And unless they change their minds, it'll only be "open" to people who bought MOH Limited Edition.

there will probably be roughly 5 million beta invites spewing out from every site in the world just like BC2 beta.

The keyboard and mouse setup seems archaic. Having played Modern Warfare and Red Steel 2 on the Wii the motion controls are amazing. I assume the PS Move is just as good. With the Kinect SDK available now I am hoping that games start to incorporate motion controls. Most games are ported from the consoles anyways.

I am seriously looking forward to the time when we can replace the keyboard and mouse setup with something more comfortable and just as accurate.

I thought one of the points of the beauty of PCs was user choice. If the guy wants to use a controller for his FPS (when he clearly stated he is only SPing anyway), why do others need to get their panties in such a twist?

He says he wants to be able to use Kinect/Move in place of a control method he isn't comfortable with, not that it should be replaced. Unless you want to try and use some make-do third-party KBM adapter, if you don't like the console controls you are SOL...at least on PC you get a choice.

I had the opportunity to play BF3 multiplayer on Dreamhack yesterday. Dice was there with an VIP room and the only way to enter was if you had an VIP ticket or if you preorder the game.

In the VIP booth there was 30 very large computers with very large monitors. Top of that very expensive keyboards and mouses. On the monitor there was a note that said "Pre-Alpha" so i guess its the pre-alpha build we had to play.

After few words from a Dice employee the game started. It was the map "Metro" (as seen in trailers) in rush-mode. I started out as the attackers ( the cs-star "heaton" was playing in the opposite team). I choose the Assault class. After 20 min of game the match was over and we switch to defenders. Total playtime was 40 minutes.

The first base you had to destroy was in a park. First impression was its a very nice looking game. Lush nice trees and smoke, natural lighting, much details. I discover fast it was pretty hard to see the enemies, with the "q" key you spot enemies so your teammates know they are there. I saw an enemy player and start to shot with my AK47, and wow... what a sound. This is why i love the BF games. The sounds are terrific.

After my team had blown up the both station next base was in the metro station. An Dice-employee told me i could turn on the light on my weapon (only possible with the engineer class) to blind your enemies. I died many times down here.

But next and last base after the metro station was inside the city. You could fight on the streets and in the houses. I found this part of the map mostly fun.

It was not possible to change gear for your class. But Assault has now a medipac and defibrillators. The Support class gives ammo.

It was a nice experience to play BF3. I didn't find any major bugs while i played, just some invisible obstacle that you had to jump over, minor graphical glitches. And i don't think this game will let anyone down.

The people from Dice was very nice to talk to. I tried to asked what kind of hardware was in the computers we played on but they did not want to say. But i think i need a new computer.

Got some stuff from Dice.

PS3 owners are whinging that the PS3 version doesn't look as good as the PC version...

Oh no? The game from the outdated 5-year old console with vastly inferior hardware doesn't look as good as the all-mighty PC? Wow, no shit? What are they going to complain about next? That a Ferrari is faster than an Honda? LOLtards.

PS3 fanboys are particularly delusional when it comes to the capabilities of the PS3, mainly due to Sony PR garbage surrounding the CPU-to-rule-all-CPUs "Cell" processor.

Sounds and looks good man .

oh you mean that cell thing that sony won't be using in the PS4(and if they do they are complete retards for it).

Kettleback, does reviving prevent the player from getting a death on his score, or am I going to have to skip this game?

Sorry but it has to be said. If you're paying that much attention to k/d, maybe the BF series isn't right for you anyways.

What does it matter to you what CPU is inside the PS3 or PS4? The Cell has shown itself to be very capable in many areas, and arguably enables the console to produce better visuals/effects than the 360 on exclusive content. I don't see any particular reason to just hate on it.

Nice info kettle! From what I have seen and heard, it will be more like BC2 than BF2, oh well. What happened to the commo rose?

Why does it sound like there are so many people in this thread that have never played a Battlefield game in their life, let alone a PC?!

nothing he said reminded me of BC2 except that it has rush. unless I missed something?

He said is has the spotting(hit Q key) just like BC2(I haven't played BF2 in a while, but I don't remember having to spam the Q key to mark enemies on the mini-map). The artwork/assets in BF3 and BC2 look fairly similar too. But I expect the similarities between the two to be very superficial and the core gameplay will stay true to BF's roots.

the Q key also spots in BF2

Hmm, never remembering using it. No wonder I was a bad teammate.

heh, it brought up a menu and you used to navigate it with your mouse, you could spot an enemy or call on the commander for a supply drop, vehicle drop, and other stuff.

BF2's "Q" menu was a bit more robust for spotting though, you could specify Armor, Air, Infantry, etc...

BC2 and BF3 it seems selects it automatically based upon what you are pointing at. It's quicker.

I honestly liked BF2 command system a lot better and, if I remember correctly, it would display some text when people were requesting a pick up and what not which seemed really helpful and didn't require looking directly at a vehicle.

I agree with NOT wanting to incur a death if I receive a revive. Yes for my K/D ratio, and because people tend push forward knowing they have a medic in the group.
