•You can op-out of being revived.

HELL YEAH!!!!! THANK YOU DICE!!! that shit irritated the hell out of me in BC2. dip shit medics reviving me in the middle of a firefight over and over..

Couldn't agree more... that pissed me off to no end.

People are more concerned with points than doing what makes most sense in the middle of a battle, and continue to revive while there's waves of bullets still flying in your direction. So much for teamwork...

Definitely glad they obviously realized the problem, and give an opt-out option.

Well it is stat padding versus point whores. The medics want the top score for the round and the stat padder is concerned about maintaining his 6:1 k/d ratio. I know when ontop of an MCOM, I will rez anything because at that point everyone is just fodder to keep the enemy away for the 30 seconds.

That being said, I like the opt out feature. I hope it isnt a setting, but an option in a case by case situation. Although I think I would always take the rez no matter how bad it is. :p I dont worry too much about k/d ratios, Im just overly optimistic and like to win.

Any word on a stamina bar?

I remember that dinosaur thing NOW, wow, DICE did good remember that junk! :) Go Dice for digging into Activision!

That whole dinosaur thing is hilarious, I didn't know about that up until today. I love some of the hivemind stuff that comes out of 4chan where people sporadically come together in unison like that, I really honestly hope that was a real Activision employee, they deserved to get trolled hard.

I have no doubt that /v/s hand in crashing DA2 scores on metacritic is going to happen again with MW3, that would be funny to watch :)

Some really positive changes.

Prone looks good, not too fast not too slow, less reactionary proning and more used for ambush.

The suppressing fire sounds actually useful now, it should encourage pinning and flanking tactics, and also give stationary support guys a bit more of a chance vs snipers, especially when you can see the glint of their scope, no more popping out insta sniping and popping in if you're suppressed. The bipod idea I simply love.

Jets are back in multiplayer it seems, I think that is going to make aerial warfare more interesting, hopefully not too overpowered.

A lot of the buildings having interiors and 2nd floors is good for defending in street battles, should make some really good fire fights across streets.

More destruction with large chunks of rubble that can actually damage tanks and presumably crush infantry. Ability to rip down the side of buildings exposing multiple floors, entire building destruction of multi-floored buildings.

Indoor detail in the subway looks far better than anything we've seen from Battlefield to date.

I love that they took away the assault class ability to resupply their own hand grenades and noob tube ammo, that should stop a lot of the spamming unless you have a balanced squad with plenty of support. On the flip side of that it's also a massive bonus that support can give themselves ammo it means that suppressing fire is more sustainable rather than in BC2 where after your first belt you were 50% through your ammo.

The rose stuff (presumably the squad command menu for spotting etc) is not elaborated on yet, and I also hear that the recon will be focused on intel gathering so I have a sneaky suspicion that they might give only recon the ability to spot enemies which would be amazing, adding more teamwork to the game.

Medic revive seems like it takes longer, you have to rub together your paddels before you revive them, sounds like there's a delay to it which is perfect to stop combat revives where you're revived into enemy fire, it puts the medic at risk meaning they have to kill the enemy first or the squad has to suppress them. Also you can opt out of reviving which is a really smart move by DICE, I'm really hoping the drag move we saw in the trailer is allowed in multiplayer, being able to refuse revives would encourage medics to first drag you to safety, then you could opt back in and they could revive you. Not sure if that's going to make multiplayer though.

Flashlight seems like a rather random addition, we'll have to see how that plays out, useful in dark areas I'm betting, in the subway it gives the engineers some advantage where there are no vehicles.

Dynamic and destroyable lights, love it.

More unlocks, more customization, ribbons are back from BF2 which I preferred, hopefully real time stats will be available in game rather than having to quit back to menui, I'm sure someone mentioned this was the case.

I'm really interested in going support this time around, I really want to play with the suppression tactics, pin down newbs behind cover while my squad mates flank around or put grenades at their feet, I think that's going to promote a lot more tactical fighting rather than the sort of head on, brute force, zerg style gameplay the previous battlefield games tend to suffer from.

Love the rush in the Paris stock exchange map the change of scenery from Park to Subway to streets offers a good mix of different styles of play, giving a more varied experience, the subway looks pretty vast and quite wide as well with multiple routes through it.

Knifing delay and vulnerability is a welcomed change, less knife spamming when you run into enemies point blank at a corner or such like.

Vaulting looks really slick and adds a more tactical element when moving from cover to cover, being vulnerable for a while needs to be taken into consideration when mantling around the map, but not overdone to the point where you feel like you're playing mirrors edge.

Being able to change fire modes will be great, I'm a huge fan of iron sights aiming in single shot mode for precision rather than spray and pray, and since head shot point rewards are in the game it's safe to say that we'll still be able to score extra damage aiming at the head, good for us who are willing to take our time, aim, then shoot.

Urban combat looks like it will be BAD ASS.

Karkand rush will be amazing, I can feel it in my bones.

Know what makes it look even more badass....watching the E3 demo of MW3. Quote from a comment after the video on IGN's site:
MW3 looks like they took MW2 and just added some levels...BF3 looks like Jesus had a one night stand with the U.S. Marines
I was not impressed at all with MW3s look or "feel"....but the quote is fantastic.

Only four to a squad, I was hoping for Six.

6 man squads spawning on each other would be near impossible to kill, especially with Medics, and now with Medic being added to assault which is likely to be a popular choice.

I don't think the game has anything to benefit from roaming squads of 6 men rather than 4, it just means less squads in the game and less fluid game play around the map, more zerging, more friendly fire and incidents with team mates blocking doors, standing in front of you, all trying to cram behind cover etc, also 4 man squads will have less nade spam etc.

DICE apparently ruled out the Commander feature months ago BUT some people have noticed from the footage that one of the squad members has a star next to his/her name...

DICE did rule out the commander positions a while back, I think it was because it was a feature only 1 person got to use, it's a lot of effort for minimal improvement to the game, i agree with that actually, also too much opportunity for 1 bad commander to sway the battle of a game with bad decisions.

The stars in BF3 videos indicate the squad leaders in the game.

Has 4-man squads actually been confirmed by DICE or are people just taking that from the footage of an 8v8 game where 6-man squads would just be mathematically retarded?

This.

Plus, I read a hands-on review from someone who played it yesterday and they said you can only spawn on the squad leader or the team's regular spawn site.

Steven Spielberg

the Recon (SNIPER!) can't just blind fire with intense accuracy anymore. Developer DICE has reduced quick scoping and the sniper needs to hold his breath for a super accurate shot -- yes, this makes everyone else who doesn't regularly play a sniper very happy.
yessssssssss

I wonder if rush will be 64 players? Talk about overkill unless the maps are twice as big.

Just going to say it, might be my favorite game ever. Got a game stiffy that I have not felt since I don't know when.

If they set it up like how MAG does its 64 player game mode, similar to Rush. It'll be fine. The two objectives are pretty decent distance apart and they split it to 16 vs 16 at each objective. Although at any time you can go anywhere you want.

Just heard that there are only 4 classes in multiplayer..No medic, the assault now heals. Maps seem split up into pieces as well.Reading through the info now..

It just sounds like they are splitting it up into 4 rush objectives like in the current BC2, not 4 separate battles going on at once at different areas of the map.

It is confirmed, one of the developers said so during the interview last night. Also regenerative health is also going to be there but it will be different, you will only be able to regenerate away from the combat zone or not when you are under fire...if I understood him correctly.

Wow...on top of that they are adding a Team Deathmatch mode...

Can I just ask what's wrong with tdm? I personally enjoy a little death match. Just cause that's something big in cod doesn't make it bad, didnt bc2 have something like tdm? 4 squads in small maps, sure felt like tdm lol. As long as they keep rush and conquest im happy.

I wish they would bring back the titan in a way such as having an underground base be the titan. That would be sweet.

I am all for that. I liked that restriction in BF2 a lot more than the any-member-spawn system in BC2 where some cocksucker could jump out of a guy's arse as soon as you killed him.

yeah squad death match is BC2's version of team death match. honestly i think its far better then COD's TDM and i enjoy SDM every once in a while. its something different and its not Rush which i hate with a passion.

yes they changed assault to field medic, and added a support unit. which has the LMG's instead of the medic like BC2. its also takes longer to revive people which means you actually have to cover your field medic if you are in a firefight. it stops the bullshit where a medic can just endlessly revive some one in the middle of a firefight and screwing you over.

Watching this video leaves me with so many questions to ask regarding weapon customizability.

For example, the Assault/Medic had what appeared to be an M4/M16 + ACOG and full medic kit, but no 40mm launcher. I'm curious to see what they'd need to give up to get the 40mm. I'm thinking that maybe they would trade the shock paddles for the 40mm. They could steal heal, but could not revive, while the real defining utility of their loadout would be contained in the paddles/40mm slot.

I also noted that later in the same video, someone was playing as the engineer. They also had an M4/M16 with ironsights, flashlight and a rocket launcher. Notably absent from BC2 was the silencer on all engineer weapons. That was something that always bothered me, so maybe the silencer/flash suppressor will be an attachment available to both the engineer and assault/medic. Alternatively, could the engineer go with a 40mm launcher in place of the flashlight or rocket launcher.

There are so many possibilities for available accessories and I'm just dying to see how they've implemented it. What I can say for sure is that the weapon models and attachments appear to have gotten alot more attention this time around.

Seeing the 2142 class structure return is one of the best things I've heard so far. The classes in BC2 were pretty fucking stupid.

I'm pretty sure you have to give up the defibrillator and med pack to get the 40mm noob tube.

Agreed lol, I loved BF2142 very much and thought titan was an amazing game mode (use to love camping on titan roof with shot gun killing enemy squads as they landed lol). Like I said, I dont want this game to become a TDM based shooter, but I see nothing wrong with a small map tdm or squad death match from bc2.

The more varied game types I can choose from in one game the better lol.
