That is why you get a group of people to chip in. Clans, gaming communities, even donations so that someone can get a reserved slot on the server.

If we wanted, we could easily get 90 members here to chip in a buck a month.

QFT - It's doable.

Offspring, quick question.

I notice in the Alpha the soldier names was the same as the Origin ID name (that we apparently can't change) but come Beta/Full Game time do you know if we will be able to change the Origin ID name or ingame name?

I understand if you just don't know (I imagine this might be a question for DICE more-so that EA/Origin) or arn't allowed to say.

Actually, I'm not sure. My Battlefield and Origin IDs are the exact same (Offsprin) due to two different people taking those names, so I would never know the difference.

I would seriously think about renting one and then maybe leave it open for donations. I haven't rented a server before so I would need pry to find a new admins I assume and maybe get a general take on what the forum would like see for rules.

Thoughts on how to approach?

Shit, I used to pay (with my old clan that is) $60 or so a month for a BF2 server, wasn't a problem. I will gladly cough up $5 a month to have a reserved slot on a good server where admins rule with an iron fist all those who are fucktards (people who grab a jet just so they can crash it on purpose as they parachute out over a favorite camp spot, TK you for said jet, etc etc) who ruin a game. Count me in for a donator for a [H] server :)

(people who grab a jet just so they can crash it on purpose as they parachute out over a favorite camp spot.....)

lol

I see a few do that in BC2 also. Crash the chopper just to land on the cliff or tower.
Not even considerate enough to land it first and let someone else fly it afterwards.

My favorite BF2 server was one where they had strict rules on vehicles and enforced them (can't quite recall the name) and it contributed a lot to how I liked BF2.]

For example they had-
- enforced lineups for helis/jets (I really think they should integrate something like that into the game)
- no intentionally running out onto the runway or blocking it (again I think they should integrate something like this into the game, possible have the runaway a separate part on the map, where you can only go to if selected to pilot)
- no arty/bombing uncaps (this is probably polarizing in opinion, but I am in this camp)

As a gamer, these rules are retarded and I'd never play on that server. It's an FFA with a team mentality. You shouldn't be regulating who can do what where. If you don't like being spawncamped, spawn elsewhere.

The last rule is arguable like I said. But even in BC2 they incorporated measures to prevent base attacks (some bases are in a safe zone). Really the issue stems from the fact that bases in BF2 (and even BC2) are often not designed very well with the game mechanics in mind. For instance the carriers in BF2 were simply poorly designed if you took into account the amount of ways to attack it, especially for the longest time before the F35B balance patch.

But in the end the base camping issue is something that polarizing on both sides. Some people want servers with these rules, some don't. Even some games incorporate ways to prevent this and some don't.

As for the first two points I don't see why putting in safeguards to prevent them is so bad. How is letting people teamkill/griefing each other over the vehicles conducive to the game play?

Seems like it is from the single player campaign.

Actually, there are a few other SP 360 videos just uploaded. Seems we may have a console leak.
Could be Beta gameplay or it could be leaked gameplay, not sure.

"this is all from the latest dev build of the 360 version" ALSO NOTE "this was recorded off of a test kit.

The design on the roof area of the first video reminded me of Mirrors Edge haha...

An interesting thing about the jet footage, I it is two seater F18s in the video. But if I remember from that multiplayer fact sheet released, there were only single seater jets listed for both sides.

Not sure about MP, could depend on the jet being flown.
I would like a two seater in MP, just in case the pilot decides to bail, F1 could prevent a TK.

No point in supporting Safari. It is shit on PC, and the game doesn't come out on Mac. No Opera support is sad...but it also has the least amount of marketshare next to the rest.

I feel sorry for anyone that uses Safari on the PC. Its poorly supported , runs like complete crap and is basically a "me too" option for Apple.
