Not sure if I like that or not.
How could you not like that? You'd rather not have a choice?

Why do the jets go so slow in this game...?

Not sure what you mean by not have a choice, but I'm assuming he's not sure if he likes it becuase he would rahter have maps tailor made for each gametype vs having the same maps for all gametypes.
I only plan on playing Conquest so it's a non-issue for me either way.
How could I miss the target...I was only doing mach 3!
1. 3D spotting has been nerfed.
2. Hardcore mode, the only mode worth playing, doesn't have 3D spotting at all.
I think hardcore should be default, and what is currently default, "Arcade" mode.
/flamebait
I agree, 3D spotting and having to shoot somebody in the chest twice with a .50 Barrett is fairly amusing.![]()
Yeah because one hit kills with sniper rifles on maps that huge would make for a very very fun game.
Any word on the beta?
Any word on the beta?
You've been around this forum 9.6 years, you really should know better by now.
Keep saying that!! (plus, just remove arcade mode) lol
Look at the "Feed Rec" in the bottom left section.
I also only plan on playing conquest so I hope there weren't any poor decisions (concessions) that were made during level design. Personally, I'll FTFO if half the conquest maps are crappy linear (rush) maps, but I'll give DICE the benefit of the doubt for the time being.
Go fly a jet in Arma II and see how hard it is to hit a tank, not to mention a soldier hiding in the bushes.
I wish they would incorporate some sort of spotting/lasing system for the jets similar to arma's for bombing it would make them a lot more interesting for a team actually working a strategy.
There are two modes, pick the one you want to play and have fun.
No reason to ruin other people's fun just to do it.
I think they do, recons get a laser designation tool.
Settings:
You can now adjust the FOV manually in the menu
Advanced Graphics settings with tons of options
Ability to keymap Infantry, Vehicles, Jets, Helicopters
Joystick Support
Toggle between hold or click for zoom /crouch
Hopefully FoV adjustment is horizontal+! Generally, all good news though.
what does this even mean
what does this even mean
what else would it do?
www.widescreengamingforum.com said:Hor +, or horizontal plus, refers to a behavior specific to certain games that support both 4:3 resolutions and widescreen resolutions. A hor + game is a game that when played on a widescreen monitor with a widescreen resolution, expands the horizontal component of the FOV while keeping the vertical component roughly or exactly the same. This is often considered the ideal solution for widescreen games, as it grants widescreen users a wider picture.
Vert -, or vertical minus, refers to a behavior specific to certain games that support both 4:3 resolutions and widescreen resolutions. A vert - game is a game that when played on a widescreen monitor with a widescreen resolution, decreases the vertical component of the FOV. The aspect ratio is generally correct, there is little or no stretching or distortion. This is often unappealing to widescreen users, as it reduces the are of the picture available to them.
Pixel based refers to a behavior that usually only appears in a number of 2D games. The horizontal component of the FOV is directly tied to the number of horizontal pixels, and the vertical component of the FOV is directly tied to the number of vertical pixels. The larger your resolution, the more the game will display. For example, 1280x800 will show more, both horizontally and vertically, than 1024x768. But 1280x1024 will show more vertically than 1280x800 while showing the same horizontally. And 1440x900 will show more horizontally than 1280x1024, but less vertically. Windows behaves this way.
Stretch refers to a type of screen change where the 4:3 image is stretched across the widescreen display. In these games, the image is stretched (and distorted), even though a widescreen resolution is in use. This is due to a fixed FOV being forced. This causes images to stretch and objects to appear "fat." This is the poorest type of widescreen implementation.
Anamorphism is a specific behavior of letterboxed pictures. If a picture with a wide aspect ratio is letterboxed on a 4:3 monitor, and when the same image is shown on a widescreen monitor, the aspect ratio is unaltered, but the black bars are either reduced or removed, it is said to be anamorphic. This behavior is very common for widescreen DVD movies, fairly common for cut-scenes in PC games, but very uncommon in proper gameplay of PC games.
Cool, joystick support. I suspected it was going to be there but it's nice to get some confirmation.
