The Foundation for Responsible Robotics has published a paper (PDF) that looks at some of the questions that we are hearing more about when it comes to sex robots in our world, and that is surely something that is coming. The only real questions I have are, "How is the wife going to respond?" and "Do you share it with your buddies when they come over?" Maybe it is time to start looking for a good deal on a pressure washer that has a sanitize feature?

The Foundation for Responsible Robotics at the Hague Global Institute for Justice is a not-for-profit organisation founded on the belief that robots are only as responsible as the humans who build and use them and it is they who are accountable. Our goal is to foster conversations about the human purposes that are implicit in the design of robots to ensure that these human purposes are made as transparent as possible and thus, open for challenge and debate. In robots, we not only project who we are but we come to affect who we will become. These are not just technical matters. They need to be made accessible to the broadest range of citizens and stakeholders.

Well somebody with good, (insert social bias here) values needs to control sex. If people just started making snu snu all over the place the world would descend into the very depths of hell, or misogyny, or perversion, or misandry, or whatever other sorts of evils come from special interests not being in control of your sexy time.

Remember, if the pope isn't in your bedroom stopping you from sinning with your unholy thoughts the least you could do is invite a vagithug to penis-shame you and scream rape while you besmirch a goddess you aren't worthy to look upon.

Be careful buying refurbs, Craiglist, returned items...gross. Kyle's idea of a pressure washer with sanitizer is a great idea for the second hand market.

Why is it that as soon as something looks like a person, we have to start thinking about what we are as people and how we treat these things with a human appearance? The robots still have no self-determination or sentience, so why do we have to bring those ethics into it?

Antibiotic resistant gonorrhea has been a problem for at least 20 years now, multi antibiotic resistant is coming more prevalent though.

STD's might get cut down, but if one doesn't clean his/her toy properly might cause other problems which might be even worse problems, fungal infections, which are notoriously hard to get rid of.

Easy to clean up, just a little soap and water and ready for the next round. Unless someone forgets and leaves it in the sink.

I would hope that whatever comes to market is able to self-clean. Just make sure you keep its resevoirs full
