What card is probably the best card on the market right now offering the most bang for the buck. I am looking at upgrading. I will buy a card today. I am just not to sure what card I want to get.

I plan on getting another card in the future to go SLI or Crossfire. What do you guys recomend?

Also the only game that I am currently playing at this time is WoW. But I am thinking getting a pretty good FPS soon.

I currently have and EVGA 9800 GT 512. I am looking at spedning aroun 140-180 on a new card.
Thanks

well, for WoW, you don't need to upgrade, the 9800GT will do just fine

CF-X and SLI require a compatable motherboard (so far theres only two chipsets that will officially support both), and a suitable power supply (with no information about what you have, can't really advise you there)

honestly I would stay put where you are, if you get a new game in the future, and it has performance issues with your 9800GT (it may run just fine, you haven't specified what size monitor you have, what games you're looking at, etc), then come back and look at an upgrade, when its actually neccesitated by your demands

obobski has put it perfectly. you seem to be in a point of limbo atm and you havent specified too much as to what your goal for the future is, so really no one can correctly advise you as to what you should do next. but in terms of best bang for the buck, the 4870 1gb, and gtx 260 are pretty much equal. alone they are good cards, and if you do decide later on to xfire or sli, it should be worth it. but that is in strict terms of money to performance. i have no idea what games or resolution you are playing at. i also have no idea as to what cpu, mobo etc. you are using. you could already be cpu limited, and see no gains with a 4870 or 260 and therefore just wasting money. try to figure out what you really want to do, and research what you need to do to get there.

I'd keep the 9800GT until you have a game that doesn't run well on it. If you're just playing WoW, you're fine.

I just ordered a 4890 vapor-x from newegg for $199 with free shipping after instant cash back coupon code. http://www.logicbuy.com/deals/SAPPHIRE-VAPOR-X-Radeon-HD-4890-100269VXL-Video-Card-/13695.aspx
I heard that the 4890 Toxic was obnoxiously loud so I went for the radeon with the quieter reputation.

It also apparently overclocks quite well. So I'm looking forward to getting it soon. The thing that sold me was performance/quietness/ and... video card length. The 4890 is only 9.5 inches long.

I tried stuffing in a GTX260 (10.5 inches) a few days ago and it was painful. I actually had to remove my drive cage to get it to fit in. I've long been a Nvidia card user but I think I'm going ATI this time, because it's more likely to fit into my case without headaches. I'll post some reviews when I get it, I suppose.

Oh if anyone wants to buy my old 9800GT which is still in great working condition, I'm looking to sell it.

if your going going to want a FPS first state your system specs (if your at a low resolution then you don't really need an upgrade or a lesser one, like the 4850 or something) any idea what FPS your looking at ?

That is the card I ended up going with Brotato, Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5. Hope it was worth the $150.

To everyone else sorry about making two posts on pretty much the same exact thing. I am working at my signature which will have all my specs in it.

I am planning on playing on a 22" LCD with 1920x1200(?). Not exactly sure on them numbers but I know it is 19 and 12.

that sounds more like a 24" monitor, 1920 by 1200. if its smaller its likely to be 1920 by 1080
