what drivers are you using and which games are you having problems in?
btw how do you get by with less than 70gb of actual hard drive space? I only have have my OS, some basic apps and 15 games and that alone is 200gb.

stuttering for me is .....whene i have for example a high frame rate like 45-50-55 fps i think to have a low frames like 25-30.
the only occasion that does not occur is whene the game run at 60 fps costantly with vsynch enable.

with vsync ON the game will stutter when it drops below 60fps, that is normal and well known.
my advice to you is to turn the Vsync off. But if you want to keep Vsync on then you will have to buy another 5870 and a new PSU to run in crossfire, this way you will be able to run 60fps most of the time.

without vsynch is the same but without it the game have stutter + tearing or super tearing = horrible.
Crysis warhead and metro 2033 with or without vsynch is perfect under 60frames ( everytime ).
i know that a videogames at minimum 35-40 frames is showed perfectly by uman eyes.
My question is : "why a game frames drop to 40-50 is not 100% perfect ?"
i tryed the triple buffering feature, but is bad, not fix any games, is only different but no good.

I agree with DualOwn, I have been with ATI from the start and finally got tired of the driver issues. I had bad stuttering in games and called it quits, Ordered a GTX 580 and the issues were gone. I am not a fan boy I am just telling my experience with ati. There drivers are worthless and always will be. I doubt I will ever go back to ati.

Does your hdd light flash alot when it stutters? More then usual in the game
For the record my 6870 had far more stuttering than my GTX 460 even though they both would perform poorly at times -- example, in my heavily modded oblivion at the waterfront I was getting around 15-18 FPS and sometimes even less around the docks but with the 6870 I was getting 15 FPS with massive stuttering. Big, BIG difference in quality of gameplay even at those frames. Even with settings down and higher fps the 6870 kept the stuttering, the 460 did not. I tested with a 260 also, practically no stuttering (but even lower overall fps). This also affected other really high performance demanding games like GTA IV. Tons and tons of stutter in GTA IV with 6870 even though its overall FPS which higher than my 460 or 260 but the 6870 was unplayable with that stuttering, the NV cards were perfectly playable.

All the chips are the same, not all the PCB's, coolers and such. I have no stuttering issues with a Powercolor 5870 PCS+.
Did you check if something is wrong with your raid setup? Some excessive IO that makes it stutter?

SSD will not help with in-game stuttering, unless you are having issues with texture loads from the hard drive (not likely).
i think he ran out of memory and is using the hdd.
i bet he got so many processes running and programs that he doesnt know about. im sure the system has eaten up 2gigs of memory, so that leaves him with just 2 gigs for games.
he should dl the new GameBooster software, i think that would help him.

Really? You realize the Windows always uses VM anyway, right? I can't think of a single reason to use any "Gamebooster" software. Clean it up right the first time, and you don't need to worry about it.
