copy pasta from another site. i am posting this here because im not sure what hardware is causing the problem.
ok, i bought a 7870 finally 2 days ago but this thing is giving me trouble on every game i run. they stutter or give me frame rate drops
on batman arkham city it would stutter or slow down on certain scenes, on bf3 the game would run at 60 fps but then drop to 30 or 20 fps out of nowhere at times. on borderlands 2 it was stuck at 20 fps and moving really slow during outdoors scenes (on my 460 gtx it ran perfectly even though it was on near high)
is it just AMD that makes bad cards? or is my card bottle necking because of my CPU?
this is my current board plus a i3 2100
and this is my power supply http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=4199
i was thinking about taking it back and shelling out about $20 more and getting myself a 660ti 3gb or just buying a new PSU and holding out on the other parts. what do you think i should do?
or buying a i5 which would be about 170 a better idea? i can always go back and get a good video card in a few weeks plus i got plenty of older games to tide me over
