Ok well I've posted and asked for help in specific forums, but the problem is getting worse and I frankly have no idea what is causing the issue.

I have been experiencing a crash at several points. There is artifacting and the pc freezes, I have to manually restart pc.

1 ram module 2gb 1600

I'll give all the times its done it.

1. prime95 medium test, 2nd option on prime95 startup. as soon as test 2 begins
2. OCCT after about 2 min
3. during memtest once
4. on the windows startup logo

other errors found

during memtest86 test 5 got errors, was frozen couldn't hit esc
switched the ram to slot 3 and got 100% no errors, but got the crash on the startup logo.

Should I return the mobo as some have said it might be the on board video card? I might do that today as microcenter where I bought it still has a few in stock.

Can anyone help, this has become extremely frustrating as this is my first build.

what other tests can I do to see what the issue is.

If there's artifacting, that could caused by either a bad PSU, defective video, or overheating video.

sorry this is my build

From what other posted have said on here and other forums, the general consensus is that is faulty video. And since mines on board I need to return it. So well, I'll return it as its only a few days old and I'll report back. Want to exchange it since theres only a few in stock at microcenter.

my bet is on defective video.

You already have the consensus: it's defective video and therefore defective mobo. Set up a RMA with Newegg to get a replacement mobo.

ah, I should have mentioned I already exchanged and got a new one from microcenter. Same issue.

sorry for not saying first.

i bought the ram from someone here, he said if its faulty he would refund me. As far as here and other forums the ram seems to be the issue. at least I hope

Run memtest again now that you have a new mobo. If the ram passes then its for sure a video issue.

ran memtest, got errors on test 5

but someone told me to raise the voltage of the mem +0.05 and the pc didn't crash for a much longer time in prime95.

I dont want to raise the voltage too high. But the voltage for the memory is 1.65-1.85

if my mobo is at 1.5 normal, I think. Should i raise it to at least 1.65

Well at the advice of many users I raised the ram to 1.75 and it is running good, prime95 for around 4 hours now and no errors.

So my problem is perhaps solved, I'll have to wait and see if it pops up again. But it looks good now.
