Backup SATA drive, how?

I need to backup roughly 10GB from a SATA harddrive and cannot get into Windows on this system. I have tried several methods of repair and am about to give up on it. How could I possibly backup this harddrive when I do not have a SATA adapter for my external drive? Is there a mini Linux OS I could load to backup to a second harddrive or something similar?

There is something called a Linux LiveCD. It is an entire Linux OS that boots directly from the CD and loads parts of itself into RAM. No hard drive is needed. I would recommend you download Knoppix. it may help you.
