Well I ran my old PC OC'd and never had any problems, but this PC, I built from parts that friends gave me and I am in college now and do not have much money to upgrade.

Slot 1 PC3200 256MB
Slot 2 PC2700 256MB
Slot 3 PC2700 512MB

I see no direct FSB settings in the BIOS like my old motherboard. What do I do?

I found the User Defined option.

But going bigger. Be back in a min with an update. Probably goin to stop at 180mhz if I reach it safely.

175FSB Mhz.

Hit a limit somewhere.

Windows tries to boot but restarts.

Poo, oh well. I broke the 2.0 Ghz barrier!!!! (2Ghz is nothing these days...)

maybe the memory? What happens if you take out the lower rated sticks and just try it with the PC3200 stuff?

New memory will be on the way soon. I need to find a good priced stick of 1 Gig of Ram, then I will try more.

See what you can come up with in the FS/FT section of the forum. I can usually find a good deal if I need one.

CPU Temp after 5 3dMark03 runs. 132F
Mobo Temp: 82F

Look Good?

I wish I could get that CPU temp down a bit. Looking at a full copper heatsink right now.

what does that convert to in C temps? Not sure about CPU temps in F off the top of my head.

The best socket A HSF I've seen is the SI-97 from thermalright. I had one on an XP-M I used to have.

Yeah, you could even raise the volts to 1.7 or something then see if it boots. Just try and keep temps under 60c thats all. Socket A's love extra volts, just get a little better cooling.
