Back at it

What purpose is the rig for? Gaming? Development/editing/rendering? Or... other? :)

Overclocking and gaming. If you look up my older posts you will see that I had done some OC'ing in the past. as James earl ray, AKA: SIK_L_CELL . I was on "Vacation" for the past 2 years and need to get up to speed. Thanks

along with one or two sets of...

Wintec AMPX DDR2-PC6400 (Micron D9 fatties I hear ;) ) that overclock like woah (2x1GB kit): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820161030 (oh yeah, free cd wallet too lol)

Toss in your choice of random cables, if you want super OC'ing get a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme heatsink http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16835109140&ATT=35-109-140&CMP=OTC-Froogle (the KING of tower coolers), otherwise opt for something a bit smaller (and much cheaper) such as an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.

VOILA! Gaming rig with oc'ing hog heaven. If you can wait though, there's price drops on the quad-core Q6600 to about $266 in mid July :), which is much much better value-wise.

Man, I was always AMD and ATI. Guess things changed. Thanks for all the info, SIK

230 for a cpu, I paid 1200 for my FX-55.

Awesome to see you back man, hopefully the two of us can rekindle the overclocking/benching spirit of [H] once again.

Get back to me via PM and let me know what your number is and I should just give you a call and bring you back up to speed on hardware of today and catch up personally as well.

Nice to have you back, but centvalny has been pretty quiet lately, so it's just the two of us if we're gonna get thing going again.
