I ws wondering what temperature does RAM (DDR2-1066 oc'd to DDR2-1120 OCZ Platinum in my case) typically run? (degrees F please)

What is the maximum, nominal?

I am seeing 116 F peaks.

typically run?

Impossible to answer, depends on ambient temp, case ambinet temp, case airflow, stick pcb design, heat spreaders etc. etc. you get the idea.

116F is nothing. dont worry about it.
(except perhaps how that was measured and if its accurate or just some BS they stuck in the bios, since its in F I am assuming you stuck a thermo somewhere on the heat spreader)

If you are really interested, find out what memory chips are used in your sticks and look up the specs for their max temp ratings (which for any IC I have ever heard of is way way above 116F )

Another thing you could do is see if OCZ publishes any temp ratings. For example the max storage temp, if you laid your sticks on a car dashboard on a hot sunny day, is a good indication of the absolute max temp the parts can handle.

Few people measure such things, and when they do they use the "finger probe" and the correspoding 10 count system.

Stick your finger on it and if you can count to 10 you are golden.
if you can count to 5, you are ok but starting to get hot.
if you cant keep your finger on it for a 3 count its, too hot.

Warning, this can damage the probe in extream cases.

Both OCZ and Corsair make fan units that clamp onto the memory retention levers if you want to throw some money away.
