I have my Prelude connected directly to my PS3 using the digital cable and the analog adapter that came with it.

I tried watching some Blu-Rays and enabled Bit-Matched and I noticed it was only reporting 16bit/ 48000hz.

Is there a way to get the most of the sound card and use the 24bit/ 96000hz?

I'm also on the first drivers that came with the CD. Auzentech has been slow in sending me them for the past week :[

Also the spdif connection doesn't work when I try connecting it to my PS3. Any reason for this?

I am using a pair of Sen HD-595s.

Thanks for those but it will only shows 16bit/48000hz even with the new drivers installed, is their a way to run it higher?

Also my PS3 settings are set to Optical, running in Bitstream mode, all the options checked expect DTS and 5.1

The Prelude only accepts two channel pcm over digital optical. At least, that is what they told me when I e-mailed support. They said it will not accept DTS 5.1 and DD 5.1 audio. :(

ah so what can I use? The only other options I have is to use the two RCA jacks from the regular ps3 a/v cable or use hdmi somehow. With using the analog connection through the spdif give me better audio?

What do you mean by better? You're sending the digital audio output from your PS3 to the input on your sound card so you can listen to it on headphones, right? It's not going to blow you away.

Yeah, I have those speakers too. We're better off just plugging the PS3 right into the Z5500s, as it supports DPLII, DTS5.1, DD5.1.

I just tried this and the sound is really bad compared to connecting it through the prelude first.

With a digital connection? It shouldn't make a difference at all. The Prelude isn't doing a thing to that signal except outputting it in PCM stereo; even if it could handle Dolby Digital or DTS on the inputs it still would just be passing it right through to the speakers.
