I have searched the forum and read a few FAQs, and have still not found my answer. If my answer is located here, I apologize, but it must be hard to find.

Is there a way to make and eyefinity group auto start when you start a game?

I like having an extended display setup for common desktop use, but I would like to always use (or even just specific games) eyefinity when presenting 3D.

I have tried the third-party apps Radeon Pro and ATI Tray Tools, but neither have options for automatically starting and stopping eyefinity.

This SEEMS like it would be a question asked often enough to be all over the place, but I can't find it. Thanks in advance for your answers.

Found an answer on, of all places, youtube.

Just use the built-in windows monitor switching shortcut keys Win+P.

First set yourself up for eyefinity in the CCC then hold down the windows key and press "P" until it it's on "Extend" and it will switch to extended mode. To switch back, do the same until it's on "Duplicate."

I'm only doing this with two monitors though. It may work differently with three. Can someone please test and confirm when using three monitors? If it doesn't work then my question still stands. Is there a fast way to switch between extended and eyefinity modes?

EDIT: I know this doesn't do it "automatically" like I first posted, but it's a hell of a lot faster than having to go through the CCC every time.

I came across the solution you found the other day on widescreen gaming forum. I wasn't looking for it but someone had discovered that using windows presentation mode shortcuts you can switch from eyefinity to extended. Tried it out on my 3 screen eyefinity setup and yes it does indeed work. I always stay in eyefinity mode but I found that a good bit of information to know.

That trick with Win+P doesnt really work well if you switch from Eyefinity and then to extended mode, or any of the other modes for that matter, if you have 3 monitors in portrait mode. It'll switch it back to landscape mode instead which is a big bummer for me.

I had an automatic setting with Radeonpro. I had two profiles with CCC. Eyefinity and Extended.

I made a profile for example WoW. When I opened the launcher.exe it would switch to eyefinity. I made another file for WoW.exe that when the game was exited it would switch to extended mode.

There is a to create a batch file that will wait a few seconds then switch to eyefinity before starting the application.

another option is to use ATI's CCC Profile hot keys...

in my Instance i have setup ALT-S and ALT-X to switch betwen modes.

i'm going to have to try the hydragrid, i just watched a video on it and it looks great.. Didn't even know it existed.. AMD needs to just include it with the drivers. :)
