So i've been using Speedfan for a few years now. Recently it has become unstable and im ready to try to find a better solution since I can't seem to get it back stable.

So I'm looking for something to control all my fans. They are all PWM. The original thought process was to have a computer that was whisper quiet when idling or work on nonintensive task.

This is what I have:

CPU:
1 x 120mm NF-F12 PWM and Corsair H60
fan to CPU fan control and H60 to Fan power on mobo.

GPU
"The Mod" Antec 620
2 x 120mm NF-F12 PWM -- on the GPU -- connected to GPU FAN port on gfx card.
1 x 90mm NF-B9 PWM -- on the VRM -- connected to a power cable - runs 100% all the time but it only runs as ~18db

CASE
2 x 140mm Akasa Apache Black PWM fans for exhaust -- y cable to mobo
1 x 140mm Noctura NF-A15 PWM intake
1 x 120mm NF-F12 PWM intake on HDD -- This plus A15 on a y cable to mobo

So what are my options? Would like something in similar functionality to speedfan. Worse case scenario, I'll let the CPU fan adjust with bio, GPU fan with PrecisionX, and hardware controller?

Do you need to use a software solution?

Or is a hardware solution, IE a fan controller, viable ?

To use CPU PWM signal to control PWM case fans you need a PWM splitter / hub with PSU power connection. Swiftech make an 8 way PWM hub with either Sata or molex PSU connector.

Gelid makes a nice 4 way PWM splitter

Plug CPU fan into master fan socket and case fans into others.

To use VGA PWM to control PWM case fans you will need a 4-pin mini-PWM Y splitter to mini-PWM & PWM sockets

or 5-pin mini-PWM Y splitter to mini-PWM & PWM sockets

Plug the VGA fan/s lead into mini-PWM and use a Gelid PWM splitter like above or with less fan sockets to PWM for case fans.

Use motherboard software to control CPU fan speed and therefore case fan speed.

use VGA software to control VGA fan speed and therefore case fan speed.

I usually just use the motherboard BIOS automatic fan speed control via PWM.

If I build with more fans than I have connectors on the motherboard, they have simple PWM spolitters that aren't too expensive.
