Attention Specialist/Action-Half-life/Opera fans

It looks like some keys guys behind the Specialist mod for half-life are working on a successor and need some kickstarter money to finish their project. The game is going to be free, doesn't have any stretch goals, no DLC.

I loved both the specialist and action half-life. Really hoping people take notice of this because the specialist had quite a few people playing it in its day.

What's stopping them from creating a Specialist mod for HL2 for free? Otherwise, what engine are they going to mod?
 
Hands... getting too old for twitch shooters... must have... acceptable Sim City game.

They plan on using the donated money to dedicate more time to making the mod instead of getting a summer job or what ever. I think they will still release it even if they don't get the funds.

Correct, I believe they need the money so they can dedicate more times towards this game while being able to live.
 
This is SUPER COOL. Hopefully it comes out and becomes popular. I loved 'the opera' for hl1 but it had such a short life.
 
Action! Quake 2 is probably my most-played, favorite online experience ever. Definitely looking into this.

Sadly YouTube said the video was "unavailable" when I went to watch it. :(
 
I actually really liked action half-life. It is unfortunate that the ministry of action never really did anything with action half-life 2.

Wow! Though the ancient control mechanics would probably frustrate me. I remember having to have some crazy bind for automatically adjusting sensitivity for zoom levels...

EDIT: Just downloaded the client and ran around a bit...works well! Even the scope sensitivity works right. Are there any HD model/skins available? I could totally see playing this again...

Then why donate? I'm asking because I don't recall any funds being requested to make the first Specialists mod...or much of any mod, for that matter. When someone says they need money to make something before they finish it...that's called a DLC purchase.

You don't have to, I'm just pointing out that there is a mod coming out for people like me that enjoyed the old action mods. I don't plan on donating, that could change though.
