When will the the next series of cards come out from ATI. End of the year, during the summer. Im sure no one knows, so when do you think ATI will release them? Im sure this has been asked many time, but I did search and couldnt find anything.

So if all is well, the PC cards will probably follow shortly after. I wouldn't be surprised if MS made a deal with ATi to launch the XBox before the new PC cards, so the XBox can have the maximum possible impact on launch.
Apple made a similar deal with NVIDIA back in the GeForce4 days, if I'm not mistaken.
For a month or so, Apples were the only computers with GF4s.
So I'd say the new ATi cards will probably be here around Summer.

Scali said:Not that it matters though... if they can show it, apparently the ATi chip is ready.
You seem to be contradicting yourself. You say that the ATi chip is ready, so we will be seeing it this summer after the XBox 2 announcement, but then you say that we probably won't see it until after the 360 is released, which will be this fall.Scali said:So if all is well, the PC cards will probably follow shortly after. Lazy_Moron said:Hmmm....Now some people are saying they are being released this summer. God I hope E3 clears this up, everyone has diffrent opnions on when they are being released.
Erasmus354 said:Wow Scali,. you are sorely misinformed my friend.
It has been well established that the next XBOX will not be released until about November (The usual time for any new console release barring the psp...release it in time for the holiday rush). It has also been somewhat established that the R520 will be available for PC around June or July, this means that the PC card is out before the next XBOX. ATi should be publicly releasing info about the R520 sometime during E3 (or a little before or after).
I cba right now to find you all the links, but they are there if you bother to do a little reading instead of spouting off that load of BS.

You are sorely late.
Like I said, MS is going to show off XBox first, then they're going on sale for PCs...
Oh please, get a grip. The only thing I didn't know was that the XBox was going to be released so long after the public introduction... If you replace 'release' with 'public introduction', everything I said is still valid.
Heck, why do you even bother to post, after people had already corrected it before?
Perhaps you didn't know either, and just feel like flaming. It's not hard to pretend you knew all along when someone else already posted the links.
Erasmus354 said:That would be the case if the little 30 minute presentation on MTV was going to actually show a whole lot of "flexing its graphics muscle". Until that airs, we have no idea what microsoft will be unveiling at that time.
The fact of the matter is, a prelaunch showcase is not nearly the same as a release. The cards will be out for PC before the new xbox comes out (barring any mishaps on the part of ATi). This means that PC users will have their hands on a real working R520 much before anyone has their hands on an Xbox2.
