ATI crossfire for physics

If I'm running two cards (one as a PPU) do they have to be identical cards?

Also, anyone with experience in how well this works?
 
No. In some of the documents they had demonstrating the physics they had dual 1900's paired with a 1600. So a 1900 with a 1600 should be possible.
 
I just want to see this actually work at some point. I don't want to talk about it anymore :). The lure of cheap physics on an old graphics card is starting to become boring without seeing it in action.

There aren't any Physics games out now for ATI Physics like a havokFX game.
So no idea. This also means we can only geuss how ATI nV and ageia soultion perform to each other.

That is if you must have always CF render power and want Physics with it you need 3 cards.
The 2+1 solution.
But 1+1 is also possible and will be more common. And G-card don't have to be equal.

I'am more curious about if you could put a 1+1 aTI physics solution on a nV Sli mobo.
CF doesn't work but 1+1 isn't CF
 
I'm more interested in the 975X boards with 2 x16 slots. A 1+1 Video/Physics solution for either nvidia or Ati would be nice.
