ATI Catalyst 9.11

Thanks for the heads up. :)

I'm hoping this fixes a few issues I've been having in Borderlands. I tried out the betas, but they were nowhere near final at the time.

Hmm.. I went from 9.8 to 9.11, and my STALKER Call of Pripyat benchmark dropped from 3562 to 3494.

I was hoping this would fix the random gray screen lockups I have been experiencing with the 5750 in my son's Win 7 (64-bit) computer. From the release notes, it doesn't look like they've fixed it, but I did notice a new win 7 known issue that may be what is causing my problem...

"On some system configurations changing desktop resolution may causes the OS to stop responding when real-time protection is enabled in Microsoft Security Essentials."

Crossing my finger this is the issue.

I have a thread about this... I am looking forward to the same. If this fixes your issue PLEASE let me know. I don't think I even have MSE installed unless its installed by default.

I saw "ati eeu error" in event viewer. Not sure if related.

Still doesn't fix the Powerplay issues.
Still doesn't fix the freeze/lockup when installing Catalyst with a dual monitor setup.

It did fix the white dots I was getting in dark areas in Crysis. Other than that, it seems about the same for me.

btw the texture bug is still there in borderlands...

fixed in the 9.12 beta's though

Does this mean when SSAA is on stuff won't be super blurry anymore?

I'm curious about this too

I've been using Adaptive Multi-Sample AA over Super-sample AA because I heard that SSAA sucked and needed to be fixed

I cant install the damn thing on my Windows 7 X64

When I click the Install option, it says that Catalyst Install component has stopped responding

Any ideas of the cause?

wow.. well that explains why it's the first time in 10 years I had issues installing video card drivers. Good to know I'm not becoming senile.

my 5770 was freezing; putting the idle frecuencies to 300core and 600mem and Vcore to 1000mV by making a profile in the overdrive section and changing the values solved the problem. I m going to try this ones without those mods. Im going to rma the card but for those who want a temporary fix try what I suggest above.

haven't had any major problems with current drivers (other than a few bluescreens past couple weeks, which I'm not sure has anything to do with AMD). Thanks for posting the update, would have missed it otherwise

The 9.11 WHQL's are f***ing garbage. Still tons of random explorer crashes and black screen lockups when watching videos.

Trying 9.12 betas now

9.11 WHQL solved my downclock-upclock loop bug from watching any kind of video in fullscreen without a 3D app running in the background to keep the clocks steady from before starting the fullscreen application. Finally getting used to this redesigned panel layout.

Any improvements in Borderlands? That game has some major problems. I've got to bump my core and memory clocks down 5% and disable Crossfire in order to play for more than five minutes.

I get that stupid issue on Win 7 x64, freezes and lock ups, can't do anything with it. 9.11 and 9.12 beta5 both dont' fix the issue. Although i want to say with 9.12 beta5 they happen about half as much, which is still once a minute. Probably going to RMA card and see what happens, down grading to 32bit doesn't seem like a viable option at this point.

Are these borderland issues only happening with the 5000 series cards?
It runs fine on my HD4850 on high at 1920x1200 as long as i have dynamic shadows off.

The Borderlands texture issues go away when you disable catalyst A.I.

The 9.11s seemed to fix a problem I had when running full-screen streaming video in my 2nd monitor (i.e. Hulu - regular DVDs have always worked fine). I used to get a bunch of tearing, but that seems to be gone, which is nice.

Was previously using 9.10 and having some graphical issues in modern warfare 2. On my eyefinity setup, when playing waw2, the ground textures on the center screen would randomly pop in and out. This bug was really annoying and I couldn't use the 3 screens to play (had to run on 1 screen in 1920). These drivers cleared that issue right up. Finished the game with eyefinity working perfectly (obviously with the use of widescreen fixer).

I get the blank screen lockups right after waking my computer from sleep mode. 9.11 hasn't done anything to fix the problem.

Does anyone know if disabling DirectX Video Acceleration in WMP 12 will stop the crashes when watching video?

Stories like this honestly keep me away from AMD products. I understand with PC's there are tons of variables but I have built tons of Nvidia based system without any isuses, they just worked with all games whereas any ATI systems that I built or worked on game me such hassles.

Why can't AMD write decent drivers?

Yeah, seems like drivers is the worst part of their company. Their stock got upgraded to a buy from someone, if amd starts to be profitable maybe they'll hire a bunch more driver coders or replace the ones they have with better ones.

I'll never buy ATI again after all the BS I've gone through with this 5870 and their crummy Win 7 drivers
