ASUS ROG Matrix 5870 2GB

The extra memory won't help when using a single monitor. Even when using multiple monitors, it doesn't show noticeable improvement until you Crossfire it.
 
No, at that resolution no game will use more then 1GB frame buffer. I have reached a 1GB frame buffer limit on a single monitor, but I am running 2560x1600 at high AA. I've ordered this Asus ROG card to go along with my 5970 4GB for tri-sli with 2GB frame buffer.

You might want to get ths card for future proofing for multiple screens or one very high resolution one. It also overclocks nicely if you don't care about the extra $100 or so over the vanilla 1GB 5870s.
