Hi, I just did my first build yesterday with a Asus P5Q Pro motherboard, E8500, sata HD and dvd burners and I'm having a couple of issues. Such as the Lan (Ethernet) port in the back seems nonfunctional. The on board Lan is enabled in the bios, and if i hook it up with an internet connection, my router doesnt detect it, neither does the computer. LED around the Ethernet port doesnt light up either, its suppose to when there is a connection, even when the computer is off (so i know its not a driver/OS issue). I know that its not my cable, nor is it my internet. So could this be a motherboard problem?
My speakers are not detected, I have it connected with that audio cable with the green head (srry dont know specific name). The speakers work fine in other computers i've tried. So can i assume this is a motherboard problem?
As for the memory, I have CORSAIR 4gb 1066 I set it to 2.1v from (auto) and 1066mhz from (Auto), but the timing was suppose to be 5-5-5-15. However, I got some 3 different timings, and they were like 5-6-5-.....-54, dont really remember what exact numbers in between, but it was more than 7 numbers in total. bios detects all 4gb though
Also I see no option to do a memory test in the bios. anyone know how?
Time is running out to exchange the stuff i got from newegg, so any help is appriciated.
thanks
