Can someone tell me why this motherboard is so in demand and selling for as much as $200 used over the original MSRP new?

Rambus memory probably. Intel 850i chipset.

It's sort of like the AGP card upgrade dilemma (buy agp card or pcie board, ddr2, sata drives, new ps, pcie graphics)....those with big bucks invested in RDRAM and have a dying Dell Dimension I850 setup go with a $200 plus board "upgrade"
