Asus mATX x58 board!

I thought I saw another thread about this board, however it appears to have been deleted or something. The link for it is no longer valid.

Weird...

Woops. Just saw the post about the database problems. That sucks.

How about actually including the name (Rampage II Gene), so that people can search keywords and not make duplicate posts? :p

Looks pretty good! s775/1366 mounts, x16/x4-open/x16 slots for three (theoretical) cards, yay!

There's an idea... Would it bottleneck the rest of the cards though? X4 2.0 would cut into the performance of at least the card in that slot.

I don't think it would have any impact on the PCI-E x16 slots since X58 can handle 40 PCI-E lanes. It would be similar to what EVGA is doing with it's X58 Classified board I would think. Two PCI-E x 16 for SLI while the X4 could serve as dedicated Phys-x.

Which limits you to SLIing with... 9800GTs to be able to run a dedicated Physx card. Can you run Crossfire and tag along an NV card for Physx? Either way sounds like a bad idea.

Or watercooling the video cards. Either way it would be interesting to see the results.

It sure has me excited, and looks to be a worthy successor to my p5e-vm hdmi. I'm definitly gonna be tracking this one, might have to jump onto i7 sooner than I was anticipating.

That board looks nice. What kind of ETA are we looking at on it? MSRP?

The DFI board is "only" around $230 or so. Actually one of the cheaper X58 boards.
