The P4P800 Deluxe I was using before I upgraded to the Abit IC7-MAX3 ran rock solid. Albeit, I did have to turn off performance enhancement mode in order to enable the fast timings on the RAM. Other than that, it ran stable and did not give me any problems. The same model board has been installed into about 40 of my customer's computers and I have yet to hear of any problems whatsoever.
Honestly, I have probably installed about 1,300 to 1,500 motherboards over the past few years. In my experience, every motherboard manufacturer has their ups and downs. Hell, I have seen brand new motherboards be dead right out of the box, from every manufacturer that I have worked with. And that is a very long list.
Even with all the new fault checking technology the manufacturers are using, their still can be a bad apple in the bunch. Taking into consideration the volume that they are pushing through, I would have to say that 1 or 2 boards bad out of a 1,000 ain't too shabby at all.
