While the next Assassin’s Creed game will allow players to choose whether they want to fight as a male or female Spartan, Ubisoft has revealed that the latter, Kassandra, will serve as the entry’s canon character and provide the definitive story. Contrastingly, much of the promotional material, and even the premiere trailer, has focused on Alexios.
The description for the official Assassin’s Creed Odyssey novel on Amazon reads, “Greece, 5th century BCE. Kassandra is a mercenary of Spartan blood, sentenced to death by her family, cast out into exile. Now she will embark on an epic journey to become a legendary hero - and uncover the truth about her mysterious lineage.”
