ive been with amd for years... and even then it takes me time to figure out optimal setting every time i get a new chip.

this time it would be nice to get some quick and dirty specifics on what my settings should be.

looking to just run this chip a little o/c'd without the vmod for now. it will be paired with a g92 8800gts so i won't need the extra cpu speed i dont think.

what will be the settings ill want in bios? i have this ram
 
What do you mean by vmod? Do you plan on bumping your voltage at all?

Basically, you just set your memory to the lowest divider it will give you. In your case, probably DDR2 533 speeds, and then raise your FSB from 200 to however high you can get while still maintaining stability. I check with Prime95 still. Personally, I raised my Vcore to around 1.35V or so and got 3.8Ghz out of my E5200. Didn't run super hot either.
 
thats all i wanted to know. its still pretty much the same as its been then, even for amd.

i dont want to raise the voltage right now... i'll see how high i can go without upping that. but don't i need to modify something in order to raise the voltage on this cpu? or its just straight forward?

It depends on the BIOS. If your board has voltage settings in the BIOS, then you don't need to modify anything. Just pick the voltage you want and you'll be set. If it doesn't have voltage settings, then you would need to modify something.
 
ah.. ok. this motherboard probably needs work before it will change voltages, but well see. even if it cant, like i said its no problem.
