Okay so I have two arrays.

One is a 5 drive RAID5 array with 2TB hard drives. One of the drives is "failed". The array is operating just fine, but for some reason I cannot get the array to rebuild.

Same thing with the second array, but it is a 4 drive RAID5 array with 3TB hard drives. One of the drives is "failed", but even after activating the failed disk in both arrays they will not rebuild.

So, I know I have done this before, but for some reason I am blanking on how to do it. What steps are needed to get the arrays to rebuild?

Thank you in advance :D

Usually on areca it only wont rebuild if the drive is hooked up while the machine is turned off otherwise I usually never see them not automatically rebuild. That being said if it was replaced when the machine is off usually setting the drive to a hot spare will fix the issue.

Got it. Setting it to hot spare did it. I vaguely remember doing that the last time, but I couldn't remember if it would mess up the array. Thanks a lot :D
