Are these Monoprice monitor arms any good?

I'm looking at geting an inexpensive arm for my Dell 2007FP to use with my laptop. Originally I looked at sets by Ergotron, but I saw these Monoprice arms and the low price caught my eye. I've ordered merchandise from Monoprice before and it's always been of decent quality, but I haven't heard much about their monitor arms. Has anyone used these arms before?

Both should be fine, but the $24.00 one looks better, as it can also extend outwards based on its extra "segment" on the horizontal arm part.

Your 2007WFP is probably a 100mm VESA mount so it should be just fine with either, but I'd take the slightly pricier one.

be sure and read the customer reviews on those:

I bought the pricier one you mentioned. my biggest complaint is that the bracket that holds the actual monitor doesn';t tilt up, only down. This was a big problem for me but may not bother you. Also make sure your desk is thick enough for the stand to clamp on to.

I ended up giving it to my roomate because I couldn't deal with the tilting issue.

I don't need it to tilt up so the tilting issue shouldn't be an issue. How thick does my desk have to be? Mine is about .75 inches thick. Is that enough?

My desk wasn't thick enough so I had to place a small piece of wood between the clamp and the desk.

One other problem I had was the monitor kept drooping but adding a couple of washers to the thumbscrews easily fixed the problem.

Other than that the arm is great so much better than the stock stand and only $20.:p

I got the more expensive model ($5 more :p) and it worked out pretty well. Instead of using my 2007FP with it I'm going to get a 15-19 inch widesceen so I can get some nice dual monitor action! I kinda wish the mouse would swivel, but its only $30 so I'm ok with it.

You might check ebay for some brand names like ergotron and humanscale before you make your purchase. You might able to find a better arm for similar pricing.
