Are Seasonic Power Cables Interchangeable?

I'm throwing together a system with some old parts and want to try to use a Seasonic S12-430 to power a 6870. The S12-430 only came with a single PCI-E power cable and the 6870 requires 2 of them though. I have a spare PCI-E cable from a Seasonic X750 but wanted to double check before using it.

Is there any reason why this wouldn't work?

I appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thanks

They're both Seasonic but they're based on totally different Seasonic designs. So no it might not work and may cause some damage to your hardware if you try.

Thanks, I appreciate the responses.

I think you're right Yiffy. I was going off the specs online (actual PSU is at a friends house) and never really considered that it wasn't modular (been awhile since I've used a non-modular PSU).

I feel like quite a dunce right now... anyway, I guess I'll have to figure something else out.
