Are scratches repairable?

Hi, i got a hairline scratch on my monitor (the anti-glare coating i gues). I googled around and people suggested vaseline or using an eraser. Vaseline worked, but it's temporary, the scratch is still there, if you clean the monitor, it's back. I used the eraser and it got much worse. Now it's like a smudge, it's widened, even the vaseline can't do anything anymore. It's about 1,5cm long and 0,5cm wide and it's getting in my nervers, because on a white page, the rifraction is very different.

Any last suggestion before i go buy a new monitor?
