Are Let's Play Videos Illegal?

He's using all the filming techniques that popular youtubers use. Exaggerated movements, jump cuts, fast pop ins, etc. He also has a decent intro, nearly 100,000 subscribers, and was posted in the news section of this site, so while he's "just another youtuber", he's doing a lot of the right things.

This. Like his points of view or not, he's the guy with the spotlight on him and a lot of people listening to his thoughts, not the random forum whiners :p.

As for the topic, I can see why some publishers might be very much against "Let's Play" tripe. It not only often shows a game being played incompetently or incorrectly, or with minimum graphics settings due to the recorder using a low-spec PC for youtube, but it also basically gives the entire story and plot experience to people for free instead of them needing to actually play the game to see the story and experience it (which for a good deal of people is a major motivating factor in a purchase decision). For some genres it may not have the same impact as it would on others, but the same things still apply, really.
