I know it's not exactly the newest or the best paste out there, but I've had a tube of ASC for several years now and haven't run out yet. However, the last couple times I've used it, I noticed that it comes out of the tube in two distinct phases, a white liquid and a clear liquid. Funny that ASC's product description clearly states that it won't separate...

My question is whether or not this is having an impact on its thermal performance... I can't really test because I don't have any other paste handy. Before dropping some money on getting new stuff I wanted to make sure it was something to worry about.

Thanks!

I also would like to know I have had this happen with a tube of AS5.......... Any Arctic Silver Reps. around?

I haven't this with what I had although I gave the tube to a buddy who was out of thermal goop and haven't seen it in almost a year. When I did use it last I didn't notice any separating but about the only thing you would really need to do is mix it up a little bit and be on your merry way.

I doubt the cooling properties of the paste are going to be bad but you might want to get another tube of something to use for the future.

My tube of ceramiqe is YEARS old and it's still the same as the day I bought it.

I switched to TX-2 and I haven't looked back. It's cheaper than AS5 or ASC and it's easier to work with.

I had the same thing happen to my AS5. My tube was about 3 years old and almost empty so I bought MX-2 to replace it. Found the MX-2 to be harder to work with. It doesn't spread as nicely as the AS5. It's a bit lumpier.

Anyone here use LM-Pro? I'm skeptical about it.
