Apple won accolades from privacy experts in September for assuring that facial data used to unlock its new iPhone X would be securely stored on the phone itself. Apple allows developers to take certain facial data off the phone as long as they agree to seek customer permission and not sell the data to third parties, among other terms in a contract seen by Reuters. We'll have to see how this turns out over the next several months as the iPhone X numbers increase around the globe.

Privacy experts say their concerns about iPhone X are not about government snooping, since huge troves of facial photographs already exist on social media and even in state motor vehicle departments. The issue is more about unscrupulous marketers eager to track users’ facial expressions in response to advertisements or content, despite Apple’s contractual rules against doing so.

If the included spyware in W10 and nvidia drivers are any indication, we the plebs welcome apple to the privacy busting pool.

"Agree to seek customer permission" by burying it on page 96 of a 127 page EULA.

Actually it has to prompt the user like every other dam thing that asks for feature access and its not identifyable data or exploitable...

Will probably be incorporated in healthkit.
