APC SmartUPS 700XL: Battery indicator blinking

Picked up a SmartUPS 700XL as I was told it worked. The battery indicator started blinking..Ok no problem means battery replace time. So I grab one from work, and it does the same thing. Could it be the unit? Is there a diag I need to do?
 
Just for future reference since there were no replies..

The blinking means it has less than 2 minutes capacity to supply for the devices that are being power. I tried a recalibrate but it did not help. I also tried another battery, same results.

It's eaither the unit, or my load (60%) is too much?

I did. The light STILL blinks with JUST a linksys router plugged in. The runtime though on battery was 15+Minutes. It didn't have a silence alarm and the wife couldn't take it anymore :p
