Anything better than prime 95?

I ran prime 95 for almost 12 hours and didnt have any errors with my overclock at 4.1 GHZ on my 2500k and no isses so far, my processor is the only thing overclocked originally at 4.5 but i started blue screening after 3 years, sadly my motherboard isnt that great and i cant change voltage or anything like that.
So it passes memtest, prime 95 and video memtest for good measure, and it may be the motherboard but no way testing it also a possibly of the power supply maybe. At this point if it is the processor or motherboard should i just get a 4xxxK series and motherboard or get a new mobo for the 2500k that has better features? Or mayybe testing it with AIDA64 which i hear is pretty good. Thx for advise in advance.

You could try Aida64 or Heaven benchmark. Neither test the CPU specifically but both will put a decent load on it.

ok i have heavens bench, i guess i can run on a loop for a couple of hours to see if anything happens.

I would also recommend testing the hard drives and looking for viruses. BSOD's are a pretty vague message. I've seen them caused by some weird problems. Also how's the temp on the CPU during Prime ?

the best CPU stability test I found are crysis 3.. a short session of gameplay can show any issue with a overclocked CPU.. P95 for me isn't just enough as i can pass 24+ hours of p95 and instacrash in the next 5 minutes of gaming.. so i use gaming as real world stability..

3DMark Suites which test physics are also very good..

No virus, also what is good to test an SSD for issues?

I'm just a thorough guy. I usually test anything I can to be safe. The way my brain works I would answer your question with "What does it hurt to test it ?".

Yeah this is wracking my brain hard, i tested alot, maybe itt run kombuster video test and prime 95 together? cause i ran konbuster and cpu burner for almost an hour and no issues and never went over 65 degrees C, and cpu burner maxes out all cores unlike prime95, so im i will try again for a few hours of just kombuster in a loop on and and intense video test that uses cpu and video.

I am a proponent of testing CPU and GPU together. Stresses your overall cooling system, power supply, etc. more than testing CPU or GPU alone.

I still use Linpack. It annoys me how things go. Prime95 to SuperPi to Linpack back to Prime95 etc. Keeping up with what stress test people recommend in any given second is incredibly boring and not what I got into computers/gaming for.

This. My system can be completely stable in benchmarks and stress tests and crash within minutes playing Crysis 3.

You might also look at running memtest overnight and see what you get. What voltage are you getting if you can't change it?

Ok update i ran heavens engine for awhile and no crashes, i will run aida64 stress test overnight with, memory., cpu, and gpu stress.

Not if you run blend with all of your available memory set to be used. You may not fail prime but you'll see whea errors in event viewer.

#1 Intel Burn Test
#2 OCCT

Good for quick stress testing but for a solid stress test prime blend is king for sandy and ivy from what I've seen.

The best part about prime is that as long as you don't blue screen you can write down the test that made it fail and run it again. It will fail again unless you do some tweaking. If it forces a whea error look at what time it happened, check your prime log, and write down those settings. It'll cause another whea error.

Linpack can be a crapshoot.

I've owned a few 1155 chips and thats worked the best for me.

No matter what you run check for whea errors. Its the most common give away of an unstable sandy/ivy bridge overclock

Aida64 at over 9 hours no crash, gonna run it atleast 9 more hours, staying at 64 C.

one I used to always use to stress my CPUs was FAH (folding at home) just set it up to run cpu only that will stress it out 100% I think that you can set it up for anonymous

Linpack +furmark for overall stability LinPack alone for just cpu

Aida64 is lower than prime95 and LinPack for cpu stressing

Prime95 and Linpack ( with avx support not obsoleted version) is 2 cpu stress test that raelly shines out compared to all the rest

i test a butt load over both amd and intel setups with several different instability levels ( different to low voltages) in both over clocked and standard clocked

and these 2 came out on the top with a far lead down to the rest.
OCCT var a god runner up. The rest was pathethic in comparison

example aidiga 64 would un 3.5 hours until i shut it down ( only tested/judged if the could pas 3 hours or not
same system with prime95 or linpack crased within 5 mins

Also note that prime95 blend mode var better than prime95 small modes in all test
i did not test large mode

Use the custom tab with prime to let it use all of your available memory. Its the best stress test out there imo. Just don't use too much or it won't put a consistent load on the cpu. Check with performance monitor to be sure that the threads are pinned at 100%

Also if you fail at a certain test four hours in just write down the numbers and put them into the custom tab. Unless you fix the oc it will fail at those settings again. Much faster for tweaking an oc that way. Prime is a great tool when you know how to use it.

I also can't stress this enough, check event viewer for whea errors! You may pass stress testing but have whea errors which will show in other apps.
