I just bought a used thermaltake symphony on ebay and the guy told me he wasn't going to take it apart and drain the fluid because he isn't very savvy to that kind of thing. I just though today that it is cold out and the fluid will freeze, expand and then damage the entire unit!!!! Then I also though that hopefully it has some kind of additive that will make it not freeze. Please help with any insite at all.

Not really understanding the situation here. How is it that the fluid will freeze? Is he going to leave it outside?

I think he mean that he will be shipping the kit still assembled and with fluid in it. It could sit in cold temps in freight trucks and delivery... That's a valid question so your best bet would be to tell them to unplug a tube and drain it or cut a tube.

The stock Tt coolant is 10% glycol, unless he changed it, it will not freeze.

The freezing point of a 10% Ethylene glycol mixture is about -5c... Not outside the realm of possibility IMO.

Demand it's drained, or recind your bid and leave bad feedback (unless this was stated in the actual item description)

I will echo what everyone else stated: demand that they at least drain it. Its not hard to drain, just undo a tube and let the fluid out. To fill it up, either order more fluid from TT or do what I do, use premixed antifreeze (usually a 50/50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water). I've been using it for years with no issues in a DangerDen setup (Enheim 1250 pump, single 5 1/4 bay res, and a maze 3 waterblock, recently upgraded to a MC-TDX for my new system).

Sorry but for some reason I didn't get any notifications of your replies. Anyways I got and and there was no freezing. But now there is another problem which is that one or both of the pumps are very loud. I talked with the owner and he said that it didn't make any noise before he shipped it. He also said that there is a 3 year warranty on it also. Anyone have any experience with thermaltake and warranties? The guy said that since he was the last owner it would have to go thru him. Is there any way to get the warranty information changed to my address or does anyone have any idea's? Here is the other thread I just started for the noise problem.
Thanks,
Troy
