Last week i bought an 160gb intel ssd g3 from him. He waited couple days to ship but he did get it out last Saturday. I received the package this week but it's not what i bought; it's a seagate hard drive instead. I'm trying to get ahold of him, but it seems like he's not online since 6/5.
Any idea?

damn sounds like you got screwed.. little hard to screw up a seagate drive instead of an intel SSD and be able to say oops.. i'd give him a couple more days though. even i sometimes don't see that i got a pm.

Good luck, does Paypal still side with the seller with proof of shipping regardless of actual contents?

I email him and he replied back that his gf sent out the packages last weekend and might mix it up and he'll ask her about it. Hopefully, everything will get sorted out

I bought a GTX 570 off him on the 2nd, and he said he would ship it out the next day and give me tracking. He hasnt replied to any of my PMs since.

yup, i bought the ssd on the 1st, he said he'd get it out next day but not until i email him and ask him about it on saturday 6/4 and then a few hours later i received the usps tracking that day. I think he was either busy or out of town and needs someone to ship it for him. Either way, you should email him and ask about the status

if you have any info on him please pm me

I sent him a PM, he hasn't logged on to the forum for a few days, so he is probably busy.....

might be just a simple mix up, try not to hang this guy just yet...:)

yes i hope it's just a simple mix up. i bought something from him before and it works well. I email and ask him for a refund for the ssd and i'll ship back his hd to him at my cost. But he has not respond back

I recently bought my HTC EVO from him. Sent it out two days later and arrived as described.
He doesn't have much time because he runs a business. Takes a few days to respond to PMs.
Use his Paypal email to send a message, and ask what's up.

sent him couple emails. Only thing i get back from him is he'll check back with his girl friend if she send out the wrong package. But i haven't heard back anything from him when i asked for a refund and i'll send the wrong drive back to him. I even tell him to call me back; but i haven't heard from him since.

His girlfriend does his shipping? I think that tells you all you need to know about his "business".

so what should i do? it's only been 3-4 days? i hope it's just a mix up but the lack of communication from his part is quite bothering

update1: after i follow the advice to escalate to a claim, he email me back and tell me to send it back so he can refund me.

Will update when it resolves.

This is unfortunate. I found him to be a good seller less than two weeks ago.
At least he agreed to a refund. Wait until you receive the funds and then cancel the dispute.

my girlfriend received the wrong item on an ebay auction and the seller did not respond at all until she filed the paypal claim. she sent the item back at her own expense and the seller still did not issue a refund so she had to ask for a chargeback. hope you have better luck.

make sure you take pictures and get everything documented. when you send it back or better yet ask for a refund before you even send it back.

That is unfortunate indeed. I did ask for a refund before i send it back to him and hopefully he will comply.
Hopefully everything will be just a mix up. Maybe he is too busy to attempt contact until i made the claim.

I will keep updating until it gets sorted out

I emailed him yesterday, but he has had no contact with me since the 2nd. I am extremely worried about this transaction. I did open a dispute, and will make a claim if he makes no response.

i'd recommend you to esclate to a claim. 5 mins after i open my claim that is when i get an email back from him and i still havent receive response to when he'll refund me

pretty much been a disappointing situation so far- still havent had much contact after i ask him to refund to me first and provide me return address. Doesn't look good so far....

I apparently received a western digital hard drive instead of my GTX 570. This is out and out fraud. Nobody would mistake one for the other. I am escalating to a claim.

i would say do not return anything yet and contact everyone invovled and speak with paypal directly about the issue. he obviously just sent out crap in package to get a tracking number.

^ When fighting for a SNAD make sure you have valid arguments and lots of information available.

If he fights and wins the SNAD, you'll have to go the Chargeback route.

  • The guy likely mixed up several package labels and put the wrong one on. (if he used a printed label) If the seller had it out to scam someone, he didn't have to put an item of value inside the package and lower his gains. He could just as easily have used a light package to lower shipping costs, or put a rock in there. This little bit seems counter-productive to the motive.
  • Due to the seller's lack of response, a PP dispute and chargeback seem to be the next step.
  • The wrong label example almost happened to me in one time. Hope your situation gets resolved amicably OP, good luck.

The other two guys who got a 570 and a ssd are in for a real treat.

i don't care if you have a hundred labels if you sell somethign you make sure you send it out to the right peerson, especially if the items are of high value such as the ssd and gpu.

if you don't agree with this you shouldn't be trading here.

as a seller i'm responsible for getting the right item to the right person.

i'm all for giving this guy the benefit of the doubt, but he sounds like a real screw up.

not necessarily, if he put a small item in there like a flash drive the weight would be on the package, no...? and could be used to prove that the promised item was never in there, if he throws in a few non working hdds then the weight would be similar to the items promised and he would not lose any value as the hdds were borked anyway (has anyone even tested to see if the hdds worked?) and he could claim that the item was indeed sent and that the buyer is lying...

not all scammers are stupid...

Please do not reply to any of my remarks in this thread, PM me if necessary. Thank you, and sorry for the useless chatter.

he has time to update to paypal disagree with the claim that i made but don't bother to email me back about my request for refund. I guess it's safe to assume that he's a troll

Or if he isnt, he is on his way.

Lack of communication on purpose is one of the few things I can not forgive.
Mistakes are fine, but dont ignore me.

he's respond back to my email stating that he's not a troll and tell me to send it back. Yet he never bother to call me when i gave him my number or provide me a shipping address to send it back. Or even comply with my request to issue me a refund back before i ship his wrong drive back to him.

Edit: Update#1, he asked me to send back to him before he issue out a refund. What should i do now? Advice would be very helpful

Normally, I would ask for the item to be returned prior to doing a refund. That being said, I normally do that when someone says it is not working. In this case, I believe he should refund first, as the mistake came from his end of the transaction.

Direct him to this thread & ask him to publicly respond to this mess. Get a refund before shipping it back. When you do ship send it UPS or FedEx with true tracking, maybe add signature verification upon delivery too.

not maybe, this is a must in this situation, my guess is that he would just say he never received it and try to keep the money and the hardware, from the sounds of it this situation has troll written all over it unless he can come up with a very good explanation, the fact that two people received something different than what they paid for only makes it look worse...
