Anybody still using the Antec Sonata?

Anyone? I'm about to do a new 2600k/560ti 448 build and have everything ready but the case. I'm still using my old school-ish original Sonata (minus the door, which snapped off sometime around 2004, I think) I thought about using it again, but I'm a little nervous about temps. The Sonata was never an airflow champ, and it pre-dates the discovery of cable-management.

Thinking of either the CM Storm Scout or Corsair's 400R. Any thoughts? Or anyone still using a Sonata with up-to-date internals?

Storm Scout is good with heat dispersion so that might be the way to go.

Okay, looking like a semi-resounding "no." Meantime I'm jealously perusing the Corsair thread. Looks like that may be the way to go.

Still curious to hear if anyone else is soldiering on with their sonata.

My brother is using the Sonata II. His specs are definitely lower end than yours (AMD Athlon X4 635, HD 5770, single hard drive, etc) and his temps are fairly warm to hot somtimes. Considering that we live in southern California, he has to remove the side of the case to get better cooling during the summer on long gaming sessions.

So yeah, I'd look at a new case. I'd recommend any of the Corsair cases over the Storm Scout.

I'm building a dead silent rig in a Sonata Solo 2. The loudest fans in it are on the GTX680s. Temps are decent aswell.

Antec Sonata Solo 2
Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H
Intel i5-3570k at 4.2ghz currently
Corsair H80 Water cooler
Corsair Vengence 16gb (2x8gb)
Corsair Force 3 60 (Caching)
Hitachi 2tb Single Platter HDD
Corsair AX750 PSU
EVGA Superclocked GTX680 2gb x2
Two Antec TrueQuiet 120mm in the front, with the H80 on the rear 120 set to exhaust.

Its dead silent idling and only minorly audible under Furmark. IBT does nothing to the acoustics. CPU: Idle 34c Load 64c, GPU: Top: Idle 43c Load 78 Bottom: Idle 36c Load 69c. Very decent temps for a relatively low flow case. Very pleased, may start using this case for all my high end builds.

i have both the Sonata and Sonata 2. the updates that Antec made are pretty useful and the cable management spacing is useful. its still just as solid and well built but now has USB 3.0 and 120mm intakes.

i rebuilt the system that i had before in my Sonata 1 and moved it to the Sonata 2. put in the H80 and a HD 7770. everything stays in a good temp range.
