Can we get a review on this please?
1200 Watts and 8x PCIE connectors (4x6pin and 4x6+2pin) make this look like the ideal multi-GPU PSU.
Also it has this new feature called 'power cache'.
Does that really work to improve performance?

Depends on what you consider as performance. It should improve transient response, and perhaps ripple as well, although this PSU probably doesn't need it to begin with since it's already a high-end Enhance unit. In terms of actual PC usage, it won't make a bit of difference.
 
Okay that pisses me off, there is a newegg review saying he has had the psu for over a year yet, giving it 1 star and saying do not buy. The psu just came out 7 days ago.

Thats why I always take Newegg reviews with a huge grain of salt. Half the people on there don't know what they're reviewing.
 
if you weed thru the reviews, you can usualy tell which guys know what they are talking about. while reviewers on hardware sites may generally be better informed or whatever, they are usually testing 1 cherry picked item, as opposed to many straight from the warehouse.

While some people may try to cherry pick units.........I get lots of DOA's and a lot of units that outright fail or are defective. The majority of units are straight from the warehouse and not cherry picked as you have noticed from the reviews here.

I pulled the trigger on this PSU with the 10% ebay bing cashback. Will report when it gets here. :) Got for $204 after bing cashback.

ok, let me change that to
if you weed thru reviews, you can usually tell which guys know what they are talking about. while reviewers on hardware sites may generally be better informed or whatever, they are sometimes testing cherry picked item, and usually only 1 of that item, as opposed to many of that item straight from the warehouse that are used across a broad spectrum.

re above - do you have some code that you are using for discount, or rebate, along with the 10% cashback? i am pretty sure its been $300 since it came out.

Well 10% bing cashback gave me about $23 off. Buy.com is selling it at a good price. So that lowered it to $205ish. Also got free shipping on it. Yes the retail price is $299, but if you shop around you can save a lot on this PSU.
I'll also admit that I like the color scheme. Fits with my case internals and EVGA classified perfectly. =) Hopefully it will help my stability issues with 5970 OC.

I noticed it uses the same power cable the Cooler Master UCP series uses.

I've always been afraid to loose my cable at LANs. I guess getting a replacement now that two major companies are using these should be easier.

You can find C19 equipped cables on eBay... they're not too popular for consumer grade computer PSUs, but they do get used for other things. A lot of them don't have the right connector for the wall, but that's a quick trip to the hardware store to fix ;)

Do the huge PowerCache caps on the cables interfere with anything at all? Like are they sometimes to big to hide away in the back of the case etc?
