Antec Performance 1 case problems

I just finished my first system build last night (yay) and I've got two problems with my case.

1) The hard drive LED comes on at bootup, but does not seem to show activity when the hard drives are actually used. I double checked the mobo and case manuals and it appears that I did indeed install the two pin connector in the proper fashion. If there's a colored wire and a white one, the colored is the positive terminal, right? Should I try reversing it? It won't damage anything on the mobo if I put in on backwards (or if I have it on backwards) right?

2) For the *life* of me, I can't figure out which of these two thick gray cables are the USB header and which is for the firewire. Neither of the friggin plugs matches the manual's diagram and they don't match my motherboard, either. I have a Gigabyte socket 939 mobo with the nForce 3 chipset.

the solid one with no separate headers is the USB, the one that is all slit up is Firewire.

flip the HDD light around and you should be foor (the plug that is)

and so you know.... look at this sexayness

i love this case

Neither one is slit up as far as I can tell... if I'm understanding you correctly.

Both cables end in a solid block. What gives? Antec doesn't return phone calls to tech support and I get voicemail every time I call.

one is white and theo ther is an orange color?

and man.. .floppies shalst live forevar!

In my Antec P160 case one of the wires has 1394 printed on it - that one is the Firewire wire :p To confirm this I used a multimeter and did a continuity test.

I have only the USB2 cable connected and I run an external hard disk from the connectors in front.
