Currently I have the Antec 900 (brand new) and was going to use it for my new system.

However, I am worry that the Antec 900 may be noisy. I like a very quiet case.

I have heard that the Antec P180 is quiet and yet still has good flow.

Has anyone picked the Antec P180 over the Antec 900 or vice versa?...and why?

If I end up using the Antec 900, I will probably put all the Tri-Cool fans in the lowest setting.
 
I have the P182 and it quiet. Has sound deadening panels. If you really are anal bout sound then yes, I would go for a P182. But, the fans they supply with the cases are excellent. On low settings it move quiet a lot of air times the # of fans you have.....so you have pretty darn good airflow plus they are silent. If you really wanted to, you could upgrade all the fans to yate loons or w/e your preferred silent/cfm fan you like. If you already have a Antec 900, I would just keep it. Its still a great case.....just keep the fans on low or switch them out. BTW....my P182 with everything inside is heavy as crap....so just something else to consider.
 
Different kinda case really... But I'd expect the P180 to be noticeably quieter overall. It houses less fans than the 900 I think, so it might not cool as well, but you can get good enough airflow thru a P180 for any decent rig as long as you're not doing any kind of extreme OC'ing... The 900 probably lets a lot of noise escape thru all those vents too.
 
Can you put the ZALMAN CNPS9700 in the Antec 900?
I plan to buy that cooler for my CPU.
 
I had 2 of them running at the same time and they were really quiet.

These were for a client. His Embroidery machines use floppy disks so he needs to be able to get the files to them.
I should have opted for a USB Floppy drive since having one in the case can get them really dirty since has a bit of dust problem in his sign shop from paper and whatnot.

Ya, all the fans were on low and you couldn't hear anything, I was surprised.
 
uh, my friend has a p180 with stock fans, and it's loud as hell. I think they have shitty stock fans and almost everyone that gets it buys new fans. However, the stock antec 900 fans are extremely quiet, I can barely hear it and it does a good job of cooling.
 
Do you already own that CNPS9700? Because there's much better price/performance options if not...

No, I don't have the CNPS9700 yet. I was just thinking about buying it since it has very good reviews on Newegg.com

Do you have other alternatives? I would rather pay a little bit more but I would rather get the one that cools really well but very quiet.

Again, quietness is what I am striving for. However, I will probably get this graphic card...for both performance and quietness.

They are the same fans. They have three speed settings. The p180 on high is obviously going to be louder than a 900 on low. When they are all running at the same speed though, the p180 will be noticeably quieter due to the lack of exposed vents and sound dampening panels.
 
Here's a recommend cooler that I've used:
Thermalright Ultima 90 This kept a Xeon 3210 @ 3.2 with a 1200RPM Scythe fan at only 54C inside of a P180B with minimal noise. You can always go for something like an Thermalight Ultra 120 Extreme or (dang... can't remember the other top dog air cooler that costs less than the TRUE right now)
 
I have a P180 and it's loud with the fans on high. Unless you have to worry about dust, than a 900 with fans running at low speed is great. (minus cable routing of course...)
