I just got an antec p180 and put all my old parts in it. I have a few questions as I see a lot of people are experienced about it on here.

#1

While building my case, I believe I used the wrong thumbscrews for the hd cages and now the side door will not come off no matter how much force is used. Should I just rip it off and break the latches and get a replacement from Antec? I probably used the thumbscrews that were for the part that slides back and forth for the wires. I had no idea that this could happen until I searched for why my side door wasn't coming off.

Has anyone successfully fit 4 hd's in the lower cage? If so, did you use round cables or ribbon cables to thread through the hole to the motherboard, or did you just go towards the other side? I used flat ide cables and actually got them both through the hole. Problem is I think the sides are cutting into the ribbon. I noticed a little bit of this happening and all of a sudden now my drives cannot be read from.

Has antec fixed their warped front door problem for the p180 yet? And should I get a replacement for that part too?

I would really like an answer to #1 as that is the most urgent because I really need to access the inside of the case because my vid card fan is dying and I have no idea why I cannot access my drives from my OS. I searched around and found some people just ripped it off. Is there no other way?

You're going to have to break the latches. When you re-do your build you're going to have to make sure you use the high profile thumb screws for the door and the low profiles for the hdd's. I know they look very similar so you should seperate them.

I have only put 3 hdd's in the lower rack and they were sata so I can't really answer that question.

I built a machine with a p180 for a customer recently and it seems the problem is fixed (I haven't had that problem and I've had the case since september, so I hope I didn't just jinx myself).

#3 - My door "warped" after a couple of months, and Antec sent me a new one, free of charge.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I am going to try and break the latches off for now and get a replacement door.

Has there been a lot of problems with warped front doors? I just got my case and it came with a warped front door and have been thinking about calling Antec and ask for a replacement. The middle of the door sticks out. :(

what did you do to get this

did you talk on the phone, or do an online thing
if so, how sternly or harshly did you articulate yourself

On Antec's website, they have a support form that i filled out stating my problem. I politely asked if it was possible to recieve a replacement door, as mine started to warp just a couple of months after i recieved it. The next day, i got a return email asking for my address and a copy of my invoice. No problems whatsoever, and i never had to actually talk to anyone.
