Dear lord no. Why risk $700 worth of hardware on a $40 PSU?

What GPU are you planning to use? Oh and what's your max budget for a PSU?

No budget but dont want to got ridiculous on a PSU and I still need a GPU I havn't picked one yet.

Figure out what GPU you want first, tell us, and then we'll recommend a PSU. Whatever GPU you plan on getting determines what PSU you need.

Oh in case you're wondering:
A good quality 500W PSU would have been enough for your setup with a light video card like the HD4830. However the Basiq is NOT a good enough quality PSU for that.

Minimum I'd recommend:
$68 - BFG Tech LS-550 550W PSU

Best bang for the buck with headroom:
$120 - Corsair 750TX 750W PSU

Thanks are there any parts you would recommend changing? I am trying to stay under $1300. The total right now is $1,278.93

If you don't really need the case, I recommend getting a cheaper case. Motherboard wise, do you actually need all the features of the UD5 over the Asus P6T?

You can get the slightly faster Core 216 version of the eVGA GTX 260 for $10 less and with free shipping:

I could possibly use a different motherboard but I do not know much about computer hardware im just starting to learn about it. What is UD5 compared to the P6T you mentioned.

Ran my 9450 @3.2, 4gigs, 2x 640gig WD Blacks and a 4850 X2 off a Basiq 500, no issues. However I have seen much nicer powersupplies on sale recently I would have rather used. I upgraded to a 750w Modular Thermaltake i got for $30 on craigslist.

You can spend 1200$ on a system but not spend 100$ extra on a decent PSU. It figures why so many ppl have problems with their upgrades.
Would you spend 400k$ on a home and have an amateur do the electrical wiring for you, hoping the house will last a year before going up in flames?

If your not willing to pay the $$ for a quality PSU then don't even bother with the upgrade. Sorry to be blunt but this is proven fact.

First of all there is no reason for you to be an ass. Second of all I had the PSU sitting around at home in a box still so I was wondering if it was any good because there was no point in buying a new one if I had a decent one at home. And third of all if you look at my first post you will see that I have already chosen a different one to use because Danny Bui already helped me with that part.

sorry to be an ass, but statements like "dont want to got ridiculous on a PSU" being said many times over in these forums shows how much ignorance some ppl have.

Just having a bad 'ignorant ppl' day. It gets on my nerves, dont take it personally, its me. I wish you luck on the new install.

It only has one free game now, COD:WAW, but it's not any slower than the card you chose or the card I recommended
