Enough for a Phenom II 965 (slight OC), 4gb DDR3, 4850, 2 SSD, 2 HD, 2 PCI cards, 3 fans? I'm looking to upgrade the 4850 to a 5850, 6870 or GTS 460.

I have a Seasonic x650, but am considering whether to open and keep it. I know its much more effecient (and probably better all around).

Keep the Seasonic

And which Antec 430W PSU are you talking about? There's three different Antec 430W PSUs that also vary in quality and amperage on the +12V rail.

Keep that seasonic, nothing wrong with it right? it should power everything that you have listed very easily :)

The Antc is a NeoHE. It's the modular model that was packaged with the P150 case.

Seasonic is brand new - not even opened.

Then I would have to say no then to using that Antec NeoHE 430W. It's close to five years old now and so may not be capable of providing the 32A on the +12V rail that the PSU is rated for.

Definitely use the Seasonic.

Definitely open the package and use the SeaSonic - especially if the 430W NeoHE PSU that came with your case has been used for a few years. Assuming 20% capacitor aging, that old PSU might very well effectively become only a 350W PSU with only 26A on the +12V rail.

I have had a few Antec NeoHE's die on me, the Seasonic is a much better PS

My first one actually did die - so this is a new unit (still probably 3.5 years old) I got from Antec after RMA.

you could always sell the NeoHE here on the forums to recoup some of the cash :)

I might just do that. :) Assuming anyone would want a used power supply for more than I could ship it (and that I could fit it in a flat rate box...)

You'd be surprised what some of the crunchers will work with. I just recently sold a 4 year old 700w PSU for cost of shipping plus a little beer money. Beats trashing it.
