How long should I let Prime run before I can assume that I am running without any CPU/memory errors on my A7N8X (see sig)? I've been running about 18 hours now with no errors or warnings. Also I see others letting their machines run without using it to do anything else. After 10 hours I decided to start using it for regular stuff while letting Prime run at the same time. Any problems with testing like this?

Another Prime95 OC Question

Prime is better for testing cpu stability than memory. memtest is better for memory. After 18 hours id assume your cpu is good on temp and stability, and probably everything could be considered stable except video card. Although nothing beats a good memtest
It's actually a good idea to start using your machine normally like you did after 10 hours of prime95 testing with no errors. Keeping Prime running while doing other stuff will put more of a load on your system and will give Prime something else to hiccup on if it is going to.
More than likely your CPU is stable. A couple of runs of memtest86 that show no errors and then some heavy 3d benchmarking/testing with no problems and I would say your system is rock solid stable.
In a way, it would be nice to have a program that tested everything to it's limits at the same time, but it would make it very difficult to diagnose what the problem is if the system isn't stable. That's why I like the Prime95/memtest86/heavy 3d benchmarking/testing setup. You will generally find what the problem is with those tests and figure out what to do about it.

I keep getting a Test #5 error in MemTest.
In the VC department everything works well at my 538 core, but I have had to drop the ram speed down a tad to keep from getting artifacts. Perhaps some ramsinks and a fan can help get those memory clocks back up One odd thing I have noticed is that a lot of people use their GPU fan to help cool the ramsinks, but do nothing for the ramsinks on the back side of the board???
