Need two computers for a family member's office

1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc

around 300-425 each including tax and ship, not including monitors

yes, if the juice will be worth it
7) What size monitor do you have and/or plan to have?
23.5 inch Viewsonic LED back and 21.5 inch LG LED back already on the way both 1080p
8) When do you plan on building/buying the PC?
within week and a half
9) What features do you need in a motherboard? RAID? Firewire? Crossfire or SLI support? USB 3.0? SATA 6Gb/s? etc.

10) Do you already have a legit and reusable/transferable OS key/license? If yes, what OS? Is it 32bit or 64bit?

Need em to last a long time and lower power consumption is better.

Already ordered one set of this ram CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) and considering combo deal with PSU for other set $40AR ; $70AR with psu included

Here's what I'm considering for the rest:

AMD Athlon II X2 255 Regor 3.1GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM3 65W $63

This mobo seems good but the nForce 630a is a little meh I seem to remember many horror stories. $51 Any mobo needs to be microATX due to case

Hardrive I was going to grab a 500gb single platter but I think a 64gb SSD might be worth it. $40-85

Any cheapo optical drive $10-15

Go for this CPU + mobo combo deal:
$100 - AMD Athlon II X2 245 CPU + Biostar A880G+ AM3 AMD 880G HDMI mATX Motherboard

Once you factor in shipping, this PSU and RAM setup is a far better choice:
$48 - Antec NEO ECO 400C 400W PSU
$40 - G.Skill F3-10600CL9D-4GBNS 2 x 2GB DDR3 1333 RAM

Total: $88 shipped.

That Antec is of significantly better quality than that POS Coolermaster PSU yet only costs $2 more once shipping is factored in. RAM wise, you really won't notice a difference between DDR3 1333 and DDR3 1600 RAM.

I recommend a regular hard drive:
$55 - Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

Thanks going to roll with what you put nice finds. Yea I am much more comfortable with that psu. Still toying with the idea of a SSD though

Actually, a good SSD in the 60-80GB size range costs well over $100. If you have less than $100 to spend on an SSD, you'll have to make serious compromises: In that range you'd get an SSD that's too small, too slow or too unreliable.
