Okay, it's coming very close to my brother's birthday...his gift will be my current CRT, my gift will be a new LCD!
So now it comes down to deciding which one to buy. First I was looking at the Dell 2005fpw. Widescreen is awesome and it seemed like it would be cool for gaming and everything, but I don't know about the response time. I just don't think that it will cut it.
The L90D+ is a favorite for gamers, and the price is great too. But I am not so sure about the color representation and the problems people have had with movies.
When I saw the Viewsonic VX924, I figured that was the one, but the color representation is the same as the L90D+, so I don't know if that would be good for movies either.
I am looking at the Viewsonic VP191B. It has 16.7 mil colors and 8ms(gtg) repsonse time. On Tom's Hardware
Movies were better on the VP191b, but not perfect.
I think the price/performance ratio is still great with the L90D+, but I want to be able to watch movies and video.
Does anyone have any help with this mess? I think I still need to see more on the VX924 as well.

Video Games
Here again there's no contest. The 191b performed extremely well compared to the VG912. But since the VG912s is not the fastest 19" monitor we've seen, we compared it with the L90D+, which is closer to being at the front of the pack for LCD reactivity. The gap was closed, but we still found the VP191b more responsive overall. The L90D+ might possibly have a slight advantage in rapid transitions (black/white), but it's really a slim one.
But the VP191b, the L90D+ and the VG912 all offer good, saturated colors in games, which in itself improves the playing experience.
Finally, the immersion experience is very impressive with 19-inch LCDs. It's a whole different world compared to 17-inch screens!
