Ok so this is nowhere near a [H]ard PC build, but I like it for a generic Rosewill case and budget build. :p

Nowhere near as amazing as markkleb's build but for a generic case, its pretty nice.

So here it is. Finished phase II of the build. Will do phase III next year.

Front: (Yeah yeah, all my components are old. I did fix the led leakage from between the fan controller and the DVD).

Well that's about it. Thanks. :)

Nice work!

But aren't those 80mm fans kind of loud?

Yeah they were. The rig sounded like a vacuum cleaner.:p So the Zalman fan controller was a big help. Also volt modded the blowhole fan to 7V. Now its actually quite quiet except when I run Orthos and max out the cpu fan and the rear case fan. Temps are fine on the rig but then I only have a E2160 so it should be fine.

Thanks!

I have the same case that you have! I bought mine from newegg a couple years ago so mine doesn't have the fancy blue metal and SWEET cable routing, but the front and the side panel window are exactly the same. Its pretty nice for a cheap Rosewill case, isn't it? I've had 2 seperate computers in this case so far.

that being said, yours looks a hell of a lot nicer than mine does. I've got cables all over the damn place in mine. what are those dials taking up that bay? fan control?

Thanks all! Appreciate the kind messages.

Yeah I like the case as well Kevin5255. It was the first case I ever bought (about the same time you did) and I had never built anything so I did the usual nub thing, go to the Egg, look for something that had 5 eggs and was cheap and ended up buying this. Considering what I did, I guess I got lucky and got something pretty nice. Eventually I learned much more about building PC's since that time and my component choices are a bit better (arguably). Saw markkleb's amazing work on his RW and that made me want to show my rig.

The blue is a Duplicolor color called Ultramarine Blue and the Gray is a Duplicolor color called Gunmetal Gray. The nice thing about this case is it comes apart easy for painting once you drill out all the rivets and replace with 4-40 machine screws. As for the wire passthrough holes, I cut them out and added some edge molding (actually the molding is just insulation from 14 guage building wire that was cut lengthwise, stripped and then painted). I also cut out the fan perforations in the back, the front and added a blowhole to the top to help with airflow. Finally I had cut a square hole in one of the 3.5" drive covers and put some black mesh on to help with airflow. This helped out with the cooling.

The dials are from the Zalman MFC1 plus fan controller. Its quite nice and looks almost too good for the RW.

In Phase III I want to paint the outside to a nice shiny black, do some work on the window, possibly add some handles to the top and add some more components. But that is a year away when I actually have some money again. :p

Thanks again all!

Very nice build Zenshi! I agree with everyone else, that wiring job looks great!

Thanks craigbru! I am very happy you like it. I love the work you are doing with your case and maybe someday I can be 1/10 as good as you. Always good to have high expectations. :)

This is one of the best wiring jobs I have every seen, you should really take pride in it:)

Thanks gjvrieze! I am happy how it turned out in general. I am hoping I can continue to add components in the future without making the wires look too noticeable.

Appreciate your kind comments.

Heck, all you need is a good idea, and the balls to cut into a perfectly good case... :D

I think it came out really nice. I personally like the black/blue coloring scheme. And a very nice job on the wiring, it looks very organized and neat.
*jealous*

Hahaha. Lol. craigbru, I am going to have to revise your quote in my sig to.

"I'm just a guy with a dremel, big kahunas...and a dream."

Thanks Deathawk, Norrin302. Appreciate your kind comments. Its gone beyond good airflow and now is kind of an obsession. Yeah I really like the colors too. Can't wait for next year when I paint the outside a shiny black with gray accents. :D

Great job man. That wiring is indeed impressive!

I would move the window to the backside of the motherboard tray!

Thanks Warf_Rat! Hmmm...window in the back....hmmmm....no..no I am finished with Phase II...can't mod more...got to stop from modding more....

Oh yeah! Came home today and saw the $30 rebate for my Neo2 FR! Usually rebates and me do not mix. So I am happy. :D

Well after randomly stumbling across this thread.. I just noticed that my case i bought for like 80 bucks at best buy a couple years ago is just a rebadged rosewill!!! yyaaayyy dynex! Oh well had to use my xmas gift card somehow.

Here is a link to the dynex, check the "more images" and compare to your rosewill.. only difference I see is the front.

Dynex ATX Case

I don't think neither Dynex nor Rosewill makes these cases. Heck I don't think Rosewill makes any cases, just rebadges them. This is a pretty generic case. You can find the same case under multiple brands such as Apex and Foxconn.

http://www.newegg.com/product/produ...turesmx&cm_mmc=KNC-overturesmx-_-NA-_-NA-_-NA

I have no idea if any of them actually builds the case and its probably some obscure factory in the far east.

Whatever the label, I like the case anyway. ;)

Edit: Actually it may be fine for me since it puts me in the whole mindset of moddin. Take some generic case and make it into something your own. Also at least you can find parts for the case everywhere. Just buy another cheap case. :D

Edit2: Well googling around I think these TU cases are made by the dreaded Allied/Deer company. It makes me shiver just thinking about it. I still like the case but I am sure glad I got rid of the PSU that came with the case.

That makes sense, It did come with an Allied PSU.. I swapped it for a Corsair 520HX. I gave the 550w Allied PSU to my buddy who built an AMD rig (4600+ & x1950pro). He has had put his right through a year of heavy use and the PSU is still going strong. He isn't an overclocker though.. I hope it continues to hold up *crosses fingers*.

One thing about this case that I don't like is the 5.25 bays.. they use that quicklock thing and it doesn't make mounting my Scythe Kama Bay very easy. Velcro FTW!

Yeah snowman88, I also don't particularly like the 5.25" bay for exactly the same reason. I don't like tooless bays in general. Just a major PITA if you ask me. Your suggestion of velcro sounds like a really good idea. I think I will do that for the Zalman fan controller I have. Thanks for the suggestion. You got the same PSU I did. :)

Sorry illuminate, I bought the fan grill during my original build mod (phase I) and that was almost two years ago. I remember looking around for a 92mm Blade fan grill of this type (and not the swirling circle type) and it was only sold at one store. It was either Frozen-CPU, Performance-PCs or Directron but I can't recall which. I looked recently and did not see it anymore. If you are looking at the 80mm ones, I recently got them at Xoxide. They are one of the few stores I can find the simple circle blade fan grill over the swirling circle one. If you find a 92mm one, I would like to find out where they are being sold as well.
